Joyce is an associate professor at Bethel University in the Business and Economic Department, where she specializes in human resources, entrepreneurship, and management. She is currently the advisor for the Entrepreneurship Club and is actively involved in developing the small business curriculum.

Prior to her position at Bethel, Joyce spent 11 years as the program director for the Human Resource and Business Management programs at Saint Paul College, where she developed and taught many of the core human resource, entrepreneurship and business curriculum. At Saint Paul College, she held the following leadership positions including department chair (1995–2006), chair of Academic Affairs and Standards Council (1999–2003) and faculty advisor for the student organization Business Professionals of America (1995–2003). In 1996, she was also selected to participate in a faculty exchange trip to Stafford College in England.

In addition to teaching, Joyce provides consulting and training in HR, strategic planning, employee relations, behavioral interviewing, supervisory skills, performance management, and other topics. Joyce has more than 20 years of experience in the human resource and management, working in numerous industries including non-profits, education, technology, and food service. She has spent years working with top-level management to help create and maintain healthy and productive work environments. Joyce´s client list includes State of Minnesota–Workforce Center, Metropolitan Council/Metro Transit, Pillsbury Neighborhood, Wilson Tool and Banta Corporation.

Joyce holds the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR), and she is a current member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Twin Cities Human Resources Association (TCHRA). She also serves in various volunteer leadership roles within the associations. Joyce is an adjunct member of EMPO´s staff.
