24 Live Another Day Season 9 Episode 1

Okay, Let's Talk About Jack Bauer's London Vacation... I Mean, Mission
Remember 24: Live Another Day? It was supposed to be Jack Bauer's grand return, right? A victory lap through London, saving the world one cuppa tea at a time.
Episode 1 had me both thrilled and scratching my head. Like, seriously, was Jack even trying to be subtle anymore?
The Most Un-Subtle Intro Ever?
First scene: Jack's busting someone out of CIA custody. In broad daylight. In the middle of London.
Talk about making an entrance! Did he forget what "undercover" means?
It's like showing up to a fancy dress party dressed as, well, Jack Bauer. Everyone *knows* who you are.
Chloe O'Brian: Hacker Extraordinaire (and Fashion Rebel?)
Let's be real, Chloe's transformation was...intense. Goth Chloe in London? Okay, sure, why not.
I'm not judging her fashion choices (okay, maybe a little). But did she really need *that* much eyeliner?
I'm just saying, someone get Chloe a hug and maybe a stylist.
The Drone Plot: Slightly Predictable, Still Addictive
Drones are bad. Terrorists want them. Got it.
Was the plot a bit cliché? Maybe. But did I still watch every second with bated breath? Absolutely.
Because, let's face it, even predictable Jack Bauer is better than no Jack Bauer at all.
Unpopular Opinion: Yvonne Strahovski Was Great!
Okay, brace yourselves. I actually liked Kate Morgan. A lot.
Yes, I know, she was supposed to be the "new Jack." But Yvonne Strahovski brought a real intensity to the role.
She was tough, smart, and more than capable of handling herself. Give her some credit, people!
Audrey's Back! (But Is She Okay?)
Seeing Audrey again was bittersweet. It's always great to see Kim Raver on screen.
But something was clearly off. The tension between her and Mark (her husband, remember?) was palpable.
My theory? She secretly misses Jack. Don't @ me.
The Cliffhanger That Made Us All Scream
Of course, the episode ends with a massive cliffhanger. Someone wants to kill President Heller. Great.
Just when you thought Jack might get a moment's peace. Nope. Not on his watch (or should I say, on his bulletproof vest?).
It wouldn't be 24 without a world-ending crisis, would it?
Overall Verdict: Still Hooked, Still Confused, Still Loving It
Episode 1 of Live Another Day wasn't perfect. It had its flaws, its cheesy moments, and its moments of questionable logic.
But it was Jack Bauer back in action. And that's really all that matters, isn't it?
I'm ready to see what London has in store for Jack. Just try not to blow up too many landmarks, okay?
"We're out of time." - Jack Bauer (probably said at least three times in the episode)
So, what are your thoughts? Did you love it? Hate it? Or were you just happy to see 24 back on your screen?
Let's be honest: despite it's quirks, we're glad to have Jack back. Even if he does cause international incidents wherever he goes.
