9/11 Concert For New York City Full

Okay, unpopular opinion time. Remember the Concert for New York City after 9/11? Everyone says it was amazing, a healing balm, a symbol of unity.
And, like, yeah, I get it. It was a really rough time. We all needed a hug and maybe a power ballad or two.
But... was it totally perfect? Let’s be real for a sec.
The Good Stuff (Obviously)
First off, the lineup was insane. We're talking Paul McCartney, The Who, Jay-Z. Legends upon legends!
The energy was probably electric. I bet being there felt like a historical moment.
And the fact that it was for a good cause is undeniable. Raising money for the 9/11 fund? Absolutely commendable.
But...Hear Me Out...
Now, here's where I might lose some people. Was it maybe... a little long? Seriously, five hours?
I love music, but my bladder has limits. And bathroom lines at stadium events? Forget about it!
Think about it. All those emotional songs, back-to-back, for five straight hours. It's intense!
The Outfit Choices
Also, and I know this is petty, some of the outfits were questionable. Did everyone coordinate? It feels like a free for all sometimes.
Was there a theme? I am not sure, and I don't think so.
I mean, The Who rocked, no question. But the fashion... let's just say times were different.
The "Healing Power of Rock" Trope
And can we talk about the whole "music heals everything" thing? I mean, music helps. It definitely can. But it doesn’t magically fix deep-seated trauma.
It feels like such a Hollywood trope to suggest a concert alone mended everything. Reality is more complex.
Therapy, community, time... those things are crucial too.
Don't Get Me Wrong!
I'm not saying the Concert for New York City was bad. Not at all! It was a well-intentioned effort with some genuinely amazing performances.
But, maybe, just maybe, it's okay to admit that even with the best intentions, things can still be a little... imperfect.
Maybe it's the cynical part of me talking. Or maybe I just needed more snack breaks.
Final Thoughts (And a Disclaimer)
So, yeah, that’s my slightly heretical take. Feel free to disagree violently in the comments. But be nice!
I'm just saying, maybe we should all rewatch it with a more critical eye. Or, at least, with a really comfortable chair and a fully charged phone.
And a giant bottle of water. Hydration is key, people!
Disclaimer: I understand the seriousness of 9/11 and the importance of remembering those who were lost. My intention is not to diminish the tragedy or the good that came from the concert, but rather to offer a slightly different perspective on a widely celebrated event.
