A Sign Of Affection Volume 11

Okay, let's talk about A Sign of Affection Volume 11. I know, I know. It's been out for a while.
A Mildly Hot Take on Deaf Representation
Hear me out. (Pun intended, sorry not sorry). Am I the only one who thinks the initial charm is wearing a *teensy* bit thin?
It's cute. It's fluffy. But does it feel like we're retreading old ground?
The Wheel of Romance Keeps Turning...
Don't get me wrong, I adore Yuki and Itsuomi. They are precious cinnamon rolls. But sometimes I feel like they are stuck in a loop.
A cute date. A minor misunderstanding. Overcome with communication and a power of love! Rinse and repeat.
Maybe it's just me. But I crave a little bit more *spice*.
Secondary Characters: Where's the Love?
The supporting cast is great. They really are. But do they *really* get enough screen time? Or panel time, I suppose?
I want to see more of Rin! Give Emma a compelling subplot! Let's explore Oushi's inner turmoil (he's got *some*, right?).
Maybe I'm just greedy. I admit it.
My Unpopular Opinion on the "Misunderstanding" Trope
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. Brace yourselves. I am not always the biggest fan of the "misunderstanding" trope.
Especially when it feels... manufactured. Does every minor disagreement need to blossom into a three-chapter arc?
Sometimes, I just want characters to *talk* to each other. Like, actually communicate effectively. A novel idea, I know.
Is It Still Worth Reading?
Absolutely! Despite my little gripes, A Sign of Affection is still a lovely series.
The art is gorgeous. The characters are likable. The overall message of acceptance and understanding is wonderful.
It is such a feel-good manga and very therapeutic.
The Verdict (From My Couch)
So, should you read Volume 11? If you're already invested in the series, definitely. You'll still get that warm, fuzzy feeling.
If you're new to the series, maybe start with Volume 1. See if it's your cup of tea (or coffee, or boba, whatever you're into).
Just don't go in expecting a rollercoaster of emotions. This is more of a gentle, scenic train ride. Beautiful, but maybe a tad predictable.
Final Thoughts (and a Plea to the Author)
Dear Suu Morishita, if you're reading this (highly unlikely, I know), please give us some new challenges for Yuki and Itsuomi!
Throw in a curveball! Shake things up! Make us cry (a little)!
But most of all, keep creating beautiful stories. We're all here for it.
And that's my extremely biased and possibly controversial opinion on A Sign of Affection Volume 11. Thanks for listening!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go reread the entire series from the beginning. Just in case I missed something.
