Attack On The Titan Season 2 Episode 2

What In The World Just Happened?!
Okay, picture this: you're making a sandwich, right? Everything's going smoothly, you've got your ingredients all prepped, and then BAM! A talking dog walks in and starts doing the Macarena. That’s pretty much how I felt watching Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 2.
Seriously, this episode felt like a rollercoaster that was built by a drunk architect. We go from chilling with Connie in his totally-not-destroyed village to… well, I don’t even know what that weird, smiling Titan was all about.
"I'm Not Saying It Was Aliens..."
Connie's hometown, Ragako, is eerily empty. All the villagers are gone, which is already creepy. But then he notices his mom's horse isn't tied up. Like, who would leave their horse behind when they are in a life or death situation? Maybe a really bad horse owner?
But the worst part? The Titan on his house! It’s totally immobile, smiling like it just won the lottery. It's just staring blankly ahead, looking completely out of place. This is the stuff of nightmares, I tell you.
Ymir's Weird Smile
Meanwhile, back at Castle Utgard, things are getting even weirder. We've got Ymir, who is already super mysterious, giving these knowing looks. Is she in on something? What does she know? My brain is officially doing backflips trying to keep up.
Seriously, Ymir’s smile could launch a thousand conspiracy theories. She is acting like the Titan invasion is just a mildly annoying Tuesday afternoon. I would be running away and screaming, not smiling!
Nanaba's Last Stand
And then we get the battle. Poor Nanaba, a total badass, is trying to protect everyone from the Titans in Castle Utgard. She’s fighting tooth and nail, but unfortunately, their gas runs out. Talk about bad luck.
They are getting swarmed by Titans. Honestly, watching her fight like that made me want to jump through the screen and hand her a rocket launcher. Girl needs some serious firepower!
Reiner's Brilliant Plan?
And then comes Reiner's bright idea. Climb the tower to...what exactly? Get a better view for the Titans to eat them? I mean, I love Reiner, but sometimes his strategic planning skills seem a little suspect.
Okay, maybe there's a way out at the top. But mostly, it just feels like they're moving closer to the dinner bell. I am holding my breath at this point!
The Cliffhanger That Almost Gave Me A Heart Attack
Then, BAM! The episode ends with a Titan reaching for Ymir, and she is having some sort of existential crisis. Just when you thought you knew nothing, Attack on Titan laughs maniacally and throws even more questions at you.
We're left hanging on the edge of our seats, wondering what Ymir's hiding and what that creepy Titan in Ragako is all about. My only comfort is knowing that I am not alone in my confusion.
Final Thoughts
Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 2 is a whirlwind of weirdness, action, and cliffhangers. One thing is for sure: Attack on Titan knows how to keep us hooked.
I can't wait to see what crazy theories the next episode will confirm, or better yet, completely obliterate. Bring on the next episode!
