Batman The Animated Series The Last Laugh

Okay, let's talk about something important. Something that's been on my mind for, well, decades. Prepare yourselves.
Batman: The Animated Series – The Last Laugh: My Unpopular Opinion
We all love Batman: The Animated Series, right? Of course, we do! It's practically perfect. But... even perfection has its slightly-less-perfect moments.
And for me, that moment is often The Last Laugh. Yeah, I said it.
The Joker Fish: Hilarious or Just... Weird?
The Joker's plan? Turn all the fish in Gotham into Joker fish! It's...out there. Very out there. I mean, even for the Joker.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the commitment to chaos. But sometimes, it feels like they just wanted to make things weird. And that is ok.
I get the humor of the Joker fish. But is it peak Batman? Not for me.
Batman's Reaction: A Little *Too* Exasperated?
Batman's reaction always struck me as a bit off. He's just so annoyed.
Like, yes, Joker is a menace. He needs to be stopped. But Batman acts like he's dealing with a particularly frustrating toddler.
Maybe he has toddler at home, and this whole mess just bring the worst memory.
It's All a Little Silly, Isn't It?
I know the show isn't always dark and gritty. Sometimes, it embraces the camp. But The Last Laugh feels *too* campy.
It is very cartoonish. Almost to the point that it feels like a different show.
Some folks probably dig that! More power to them, I say.
I'm Not Saying It's Bad...Just...Not My Favorite.
Look, I'm not saying The Last Laugh is a *bad* episode. It's just not in my top ten. Or twenty.
There are so many other amazing episodes. The ones with Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Two-Face. The ones with real emotional weight.
This one just makes me giggle a little and then want to re-watch "Heart of Ice".
Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?
Maybe I'm alone in this. Maybe everyone else thinks The Last Laugh is a masterpiece.
That is completely possible! I'm always happy to be wrong about things, especially when it involves a beloved cartoon.
But I had to get it off my chest. The Joker fish! It's...a lot.
It still is great!
The animation is still top notch, so, no issue here. And the voice acting is on point.
Mark Hamill as The Joker gives a fantastic performance, as always.
So it might just be a plot thing, or something of that kind.
So what do you think? Am I crazy? Or does anyone else agree that The Last Laugh, while entertaining, isn't the best Batman: The Animated Series has to offer?
Please, tell me I'm not alone!
Or, go ahead and tell me I'm completely wrong. I can take it.
