Blue Flame Zelda Breath Of The Wild

Okay, let's talk blue flame in Breath of the Wild. I have something to confess.
I think... it's a little overrated.
It's Just… Fire, Right?
Don't get me wrong! The first time you see it, it's magical. Especially how Hyrule’s night sky lit up.
But after the third Ancient Furnace? It's just a chore. A very blue, very flammable chore.
Like, I get it. It's necessary for those cool ancient weapons.
The Torch Relay Games
The worst part? Transporting that darn flame! It becomes this ridiculous, almost comedic, journey.
You're dodging rain, enemy camps, and your own shadow. Trying desperately to keep that torch lit.
Seriously, who thought this was a fun game mechanic? Was it meant to torture Link, or the player?
Unpopular Opinion Incoming!
Here comes the truly scandalous part. I think regular fire is better. *Gasp!*
It’s everywhere! No need for a complicated fetching quest.
And honestly, does the blue flame really do anything special besides power ancient tech?
Okay, okay, it looks cool. I'll give you that.
But practically speaking? Give me a regular old torch and a pile of dry grass any day.
The Sheikah Slate Saves the Day… Sort Of
Thank goodness for the Sheikah Slate and its Stasis ability! Stopping those pesky rain drops.
Otherwise, that blue flame would have been extinguished faster than my patience.
I mean, what's the point of having a legendary hero if he can't even keep a torch lit in the rain?
Am I Alone?
Maybe I’m just a lazy adventurer. Perhaps I just have fire management skills?
But honestly, the blue flame quests felt like busywork. An artificial way to extend playtime.
I spent so much time babysitting that flame. I could have been fighting monsters, exploring dungeons, or baking apples!
Those guardian robots aren't going to defeat themselves, you know!
So, tell me, am I the only one who feels this way? Is the blue flame a bit… underwhelming?
The Verdict
Look, I still love Breath of the Wild. It's a masterpiece.
This is just one tiny, fiery little nitpick.
But maybe, just maybe, the sequel could skip the blue flame fetch quests. Pretty please?
I'd rather be surfing on my shield. Or, you know, actually saving Hyrule.
