Breath Of The Wild First 4 Shrines

Okay, let's be real. We all remember Breath of the Wild. Majestic landscapes, right? Epic story? Delicious apples? Totally. But what about those first four shrines?
Yeah, the Great Plateau. We've all been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt (in-game, of course, because Link is stylish).
The Shrine Gauntlet
Seriously though, I have some *feelings* about those introductory trials. Prepare for some potentially unpopular opinions.
Oman Au Shrine: Magnesis Madness
Magnesis is cool. Lifting metal boxes? Awesome. Creating bridges? Practical! But did anyone else feel like the solution was *too* obvious?
Like, "Oh look, a giant metal plate conveniently placed near a gap! What could this be for?" I'm not saying I'm a genius, but...
And the treasure chest on top? Come on, Link. Flex those arm muscles and just yeet it down!
Ja Baij Shrine: Stasis Shenanigans
Stasis is definitely a game-changer. Freezing objects in time? Hilarious! Especially when you whack them repeatedly.
However, that rolling boulder puzzle? Pure frustration. Did anyone *actually* get it right the first time? Or did we all just button-mash and hope for the best?
I definitely cheesed it. Let's be honest, who didn't? We're all friends here.
Owa Daim Shrine: Bombing for Beginners
Bombs! Round ones, square ones. Explosions galore! What's not to love?
Well, maybe the fact that I kept accidentally blowing myself up. Multiple times. It's a learning curve, okay?
Plus, that bomb-able wall? I swear, I threw like twenty bombs at it before I realized I needed the *round* one. Oops.
Rohta Ooh Shrine: Cryonis Creations
Ice pillars! Perfect for scaling waterfalls and looking majestic. Or for accidentally trapping yourself in a corner.
This one wasn't *too* bad, I'll admit. But those timed gates? Stressful! I felt like I was playing a low-stakes version of "American Ninja Warrior."
Seriously, the panic of placing that last pillar *just* before the gate closed? Intense.
The Real Reward
Look, I know these shrines are designed to be tutorials. Gentle introductions to the game's mechanics.
But part of me wishes they were a *little* more challenging. A little more... surprising.
Maybe an extra enemy or two? A hidden puzzle? Just something to spice things up!
Ultimately, though, getting those Spirit Orbs is totally worth it. More hearts? More stamina? Yes, please!
Plus, escaping the Great Plateau and seeing the vast world of Hyrule for the first time? That's a feeling you just can't beat.
So, here's to the first four shrines: simple, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately essential. And here's to all the memories – both good and bad – they gave us. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Master Sword to pull from a stone.
What are your thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Let me know!
