Breath Of The Wild Secret Of The Cedars

Okay, let's talk Breath of the Wild. Specifically, the Secret of the Cedars. Prepare yourselves. This might be controversial.
The Cedars: Overhyped or Just Right?
Everyone raves about this side quest. "Oh, the gorgeous views!" "The touching story!" I get it, I really do.
But honestly? Am I the only one who found it a little...underwhelming?
The Climb is Real (and Annoying)
First, the climbing. So much climbing! My thumbs were screaming for mercy.
Link's stamina bar was mocking me. Did I mention the rain? Ugh, the rain!
Trying to find the right path felt like a puzzle in itself. Is this really enjoyable or a test of patience?
The "Secret" Isn't That Secret
The big reveal? A beautiful vista and some photos. Nice, sure, but game-changing?
Maybe I'm jaded. Maybe I expected a hidden treasure chest overflowing with ancient tech. I was disappointed. Is that wrong?
The photos are cute. But I already took a million selfies with Link and Zelda.
The Old Man's Wisdom (or Lack Thereof)
Speaking of the old man... He's nice, I guess. A bit cryptic.
He rambles about his past. I nod politely, but inside I'm thinking, "Get to the point, grandpa!"
I respect his journey, but does it REALLY justify that perilous climb?
The Memories: A Tearjerker?
The memories are supposed to be emotional, right? They're designed to tug at your heartstrings.
And some are touching, absolutely. But the Secret of the Cedars memory? Not exactly bringing on the waterworks.
I felt more for the fallen horses, if I'm being honest.
Compared to Other Side Quests
Breath of the Wild has SO many incredible side quests. Some are hilarious. Some are challenging.
Some offer amazing rewards. And then there's the Secret of the Cedars. Which is... fine?
Maybe my expectations were too high. Perhaps I'd just defeated a Lynel and was feeling invincible. Either way, the cedars felt anticlimactic.
Unpopular Opinion: Overrated
Okay, here it is. My unpopular opinion: The Secret of the Cedars is overrated.
It's pretty. It's a nice little story. But it's not the pinnacle of Breath of the Wild content.
There. I said it. Now bring on the downvotes!
Don't get me wrong, I adore Breath of the Wild. It's a masterpiece. But every masterpiece has its slightly less brilliant moments, right?
So, tell me, am I alone in this? Or are there others out there who found the Secret of the Cedars a bit...meh?
Let's discuss. Maybe you can change my mind. Or maybe we can commiserate over our shared cedar-related disappointment.
Regardless, keep exploring Hyrule! There's still plenty of amazing stuff to discover. Even if some cedars are a little less secret than we thought.
