Call Of The Night Anime Series

Okay, let's talk about Call of the Night. Everyone seems to love it. But I have some thoughts.
Vampires and Late Nights: A Recipe for… Boredom?
The premise is cool, right? A teenage insomniac, Ko Yamori, meets a vampire, Nazuna Nanakusa. He decides he wants to be a vampire too. Seems like a fun, spooky adventure!
But honestly? Sometimes it feels like watching paint dry. Or maybe watching someone else sleep when you’re wide awake.
Unpopular Opinion #1: Ko is… Kind of Annoying
Hear me out! I know he's supposed to be relatable. He is confused and searching for something in life.
But his constant inner monologues? They can be a bit much. Like, dude, just do something! Stop thinking about it so much.
He is like the kid at the party who overanalyzes everything. You just want to tell him to chill and have some fun.
The "Romance" Feels a Little… Off
I know, I know, it's not supposed to be super romantic at first. It's more about Ko wanting to fall in love to become a vampire.
But Nazuna feels more like a cool older sister than a love interest. Maybe it is just me, and I'm not getting the appeal.
Plus, the whole "fall in love to become a vampire" thing? Seems like a really inefficient system. Imagine the paperwork!
The Art Style: Love It or Hate It?
Okay, the animation style is definitely unique. It is all bold lines and vibrant colors.
Some people adore it. I can see why. But sometimes it feels a little…flat. It is like the characters are paper cutouts.
Maybe I'm just old-fashioned. I like my anime with a little more depth.
The Pacing: Slow Burn or Just Plain Slow?
Call of the Night takes its time. It meanders through the neon-lit streets. It explores Ko's feelings.
But sometimes, it feels like it's meandering too much. Like it is going for a casual night-time stroll.
A little more plot wouldn't hurt. Just saying!
Unpopular Opinion #2: The Side Characters are… Underwhelming
Besides Nazuna, the other characters feel a bit… generic. There is a childhood friend.
They show up. They do some stuff. Then they disappear.
Where's the quirky best friend? The over-the-top rival? Give me some spice!
The Music: The One Thing We Can All Agree On
Okay, even I have to admit it. The soundtrack is fantastic.
That opening theme? Instant banger. It is the perfect vibe for late-night adventures.
Seriously, the music is the only reason I didn't completely give up on this show.
So, there you have it. My somewhat controversial thoughts on Call of the Night. I’m not saying it's bad. It is just… not my cup of tea.
Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I need to give it another shot. Or maybe I just need more caffeine to stay awake while watching it.
But hey, at least the music is good. Right?
