Common Effect Ever Manga Should Kno

Okay, manga lovers, let's have a *totally* serious discussion. Just kidding! But seriously, there's this one thing I think *every* manga seems to do. And I'm starting to think it might be... a little overused.
The Ever-Present Nosebleed
Yep, I'm talking about the infamous nosebleed. You know, the one that erupts when a character sees something even remotely attractive? It's like a geyser of pure, unadulterated... *excitement*?
I get it. It's a visual shorthand. It's supposed to be funny. But honestly? I think my nose would be permanently dry if I lived in a manga universe.
Is it *really* that shocking?
Think about it. In most manga, especially those of the harem variety, the protagonist is surrounded by gorgeous people. All. The. Time. Wouldn't they just get used to it eventually?
Imagine trying to function normally with a constant drip. Sticky situation, literally! I'd be investing in a bulk order of tissues.
Maybe a small blush? A subtle stammer? Just *anything* other than a blood fountain? Please?
Food Glorious Food (and Reactions)
Another thing? Over-the-top food reactions. A single bite of grandma's cooking and suddenly they're seeing explosions of flavor. They’re transported to a field of daisies being serenaded by a choir of angels.
I mean, I love a good meal as much as the next person. But the last time I ate something delicious, I just said, "Mmm, that's good." No out-of-body experience necessary.
Is the food *that* good? Or is everyone just incredibly suggestible? Inquiring minds want to know!
The "Sparkly" Effect
And don't even get me started on the sparkles. Someone says something even mildly encouraging? BAM! A glitter bomb of positivity explodes around them.
I swear, some manga characters have more glitter on them than a craft store during the holidays. Where are they *getting* all that glitter? Is there a sparkle fairy I don't know about?
It’s like they’re auditioning for a role in a disco. All that shimmer can be blinding!
The Dramatic Gasp
Finally, let's acknowledge the ever-present dramatic gasp. It’s used for everything! Surprises, shocks, revelations... you name it, someone's gasping about it.
If I gasped that often, I'd probably hyperventilate and pass out. Talk about a plot twist! The main character faints from sheer dramatic excess.
Maybe a raised eyebrow? A subtle widening of the eyes? A *slightly* more realistic reaction? Just a thought.
Look, I still love manga. I wouldn't be writing this if I didn't! But sometimes I think these overused tropes could be toned down a bit. Maybe it's time for some new and exciting ways to express shock, surprise, and… intense nosebleeds.
What do you think? Am I completely off base? Or are you secretly stockpiling tissues and glitter too?
