Okay, let's talk Conan Exiles leveling. Level 20 by 2021... a simpler time. Everyone's got their "secret" method, right?

Forget What You Think You Know

Seriously, ditch the guides. Throw them into the volcano. I have a feeling most are outdated anyway.

The *fastest* way? It's not what you expect. Trust me.

The Gathering Game (Not Really)

People say grind stone. Get wood. Build, build, build. So boring, right?

Plus, a giant base early on is just begging for trouble. Think about the raids!

Nah, forget that. We're going rogue.

My Unpopular Opinion: Run!

That's right. Sprint like your loincloth is on fire. (It probably is in the desert).

Seriously, just explore. Find those location discoveries.

Those early levels? They practically hand them out for just seeing a new rock formation.

Landmark Hopping: The Real XP Goldmine

Focus on discovering as many locations as humanly possible. Run to the north and let the cold kill you slowly.

Ignore the mobs at first. If they chase you, keep running, you will find a location eventually. We can take on some hyenas later.

Hit every named place. Every ruin. Every obelisk. The XP stacks are insane.

The Recipe for Quick Levels

First, locate the *Obelisk* nearest your starting location.

Second, find a bedroll and place it for fast travel. Now you can respawn there if something bad happens. (And it will).

Third, run, Forrest, run! Discover every location in the area. Remember: north, east, south and west.

Crafting? For Later!

Crafting gets you XP, sure. But it's slow. So, very, very slow.

Plus, you'll need materials. Which means...gathering. We're avoiding that, remember?

Just grab what you need to survive, you don't need to build a house yet.

Danger is Your Friend (Sort Of)

Okay, running into a boss creature? Maybe avoid that. At least initially.

But those little camps? The ones with a few NPCs? Those are fair game.

Especially the hyenas. Easy to kill, decent XP. Think of them as furry little pinatas.

The Level 20 Sweet Spot

Once you've cleared a decent chunk of locations, and maybe smacked around some hyenas, level 20 is within reach.

You'll probably be starving and dehydrated, but hey, you got levels!

Now you can finally craft that sweet armor and start building that fortress. Or...you know...keep running.

But if you want to hit level 20 fast, ditch the grind and embrace the explorer within.
