Delta Sigma Theta Stroll To Be Real

Okay, let's talk about something near and dear to my heart (and probably a lot of other people's hearts too). It's a topic that involves perfectly synchronized moves, a whole lot of sisterhood, and maybe, just maybe, a *teensy* bit of over-the-top enthusiasm.
I'm talking about the Delta Sigma Theta Stroll.
The Thrill is Real (Mostly)
Now, don't get me wrong. I appreciate the artistry. I respect the dedication. Those women put in WORK to make those strolls look effortless. The energy is contagious!
But here's my (potentially) unpopular opinion: Sometimes, the stroll...well, it can be a *little* much.
The "Stroll Anywhere, Anytime" Phenomenon
Let's be real. Have you ever been at a perfectly normal event and BOOM! A stroll breaks out? Like, you're just trying to enjoy your potato salad, and suddenly there's a sea of crimson and cream swirling around you.
It's like an impromptu flash mob, but instead of a surprise dance number, it's a carefully choreographed expression of sisterhood. Which, again, is cool! But maybe not during Aunt Mildred's 80th birthday bingo game.
I've seen strolls at weddings. I've seen strolls at grocery stores (okay, maybe I *imagined* that one, but I wouldn't be surprised). It's like the Bat-Signal, but instead of calling Batman, it summons a synchronized dance routine.
Is there ever a bad time for a stroll? According to some, absolutely not.
The Volume Debate
Another thing: the music! It's always LOUD. Like, window-rattling, bass-thumping LOUD. I appreciate a good beat as much as the next person, but sometimes my ears need a break, you know?
Is it just me, or does the volume always seem to be cranked up to eleven? Maybe it's part of the ritual. Maybe it's a way of announcing, "We're here, we're fabulous, and we're ready to step!"
I guess I just wish there was an occasional "inside voices" stroll.
In Defense of My Questionable Opinion
Look, I know I'm poking a little fun. And truly, I'm coming from a place of love. I genuinely admire the Delta Sigma Theta organization and all that they stand for. The sisterhood is amazing. The service is inspiring. The commitment is undeniable.
But sometimes, even the most wonderful things can be a little overwhelming. And, let's face it, the stroll is a *very* wonderful thing.
Maybe my unpopular opinion is just that I'm jealous I can't pull off those moves myself. Maybe I'm secretly hoping to be invited to join in someday (hint, hint!).
Or maybe, just maybe, I think that sometimes, a little bit of restraint can make something even more special. A stroll saved for the perfect moment? Now that's powerful.
So, Deltas, keep strolling. Keep stepping. Keep shining. Just maybe, consider the occasional "quiet stroll" for us introverts out there. We'll appreciate it, I promise!
And to everyone else: next time you see a stroll about to break out, grab your phone, start recording, and prepare to be amazed (and maybe slightly deafened). It's all part of the experience.
"Once a Delta, Always a Delta!"...and always ready to stroll.
