Destiny 2 Season Of The Drifter Cutscene

Okay, Guardians, let's talk. We all have those Destiny 2 memories seared into our brains.
Specifically, I want to chat about the Season of the Drifter cutscenes. Buckle up, because I might have an unpopular opinion.
The Gambit Maestro Himself
First, let's be real. The Drifter is a cool character. He's got that mysterious vibe, the shady past, and the "Hey, wanna play a game?" attitude.
Gambit is pure chaos, and he's the ringmaster.
But…are his cutscenes actually good?
My Problem? The Pacing.
Don't get me wrong, the lore is interesting. Learning about his past, his experiences with the Nine, the whole Shadows of Yor drama…it's all juicy stuff.
The problem is, sometimes it feels like a lore dump. We get bombarded with exposition, and the actual “story” feels secondary.
Anyone else feel like they were just info-dumped?
The Shiny and the…Dull?
Visually, the cutscenes are fine. Not mind-blowing, but definitely decent.
But the dialogue! It can be clunky. It often feels like characters are just explaining things for the audience's sake, rather than having natural conversations.
It's like, "Hey Guardian, let me tell you my entire life story in excruciating detail!"
Unpopular Opinion Incoming
Here's the controversial bit: I think some of the Season of the Drifter cutscenes are…boring.
Yes, I said it. Don't @ me!
Compared to the emotional gut-punches of some other seasons, these felt a bit…flat.
The Drifter is cool, but just because a character is intriguing doesn't automatically make every cutscene amazing.
Am I the Only One?
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm missing some crucial nuance. Maybe I just wanted more Gambit gameplay and less talking.
But I can't shake the feeling that the potential of the Drifter and his story wasn't fully realized in those cutscenes.
They felt more like Wikipedia articles than engaging narrative moments.
Let's Talk About It
What do you guys think? Am I way off base here? Did you love the Season of the Drifter cutscenes?
Or did you also find them a little…underwhelming?
I'm genuinely curious to hear your thoughts. Let me know! Let's have a chat!
Maybe I need to rewatch them with fresh eyes. Or maybe I just need more Gambit in my life to appreciate the Drifter.
Either way, I'm always up for a good debate. Just don't invade my Primeval, okay?
Transmat firing!
And remember: Bank those motes!
