Specifically, the first English opening. The one with "Rock the Dragon". Yes, I said it.

I know, I know. People have *feelings* about this. And listen, I get it. Nostalgia is a powerful drug. It warps your perception of reality and makes you think 90s fashion was cool.

But let's objectively look at this.

Let's address the elephant in the room: the lyrics. "Dragon Dragon! Rock the Dragon!" It's... repetitive. Like, *really* repetitive. After the first few episodes, you start to question your life choices.

Is this it? Is this the peak of human artistic achievement? Dragon...Dragon? I’m having an existential crisis over here!

The animation doesn't always sync up great either. Characters are screaming but the song is kinda... chill? It's a weird vibe.

Compare it to some other anime openings. Think of "Cruel Angel's Thesis" from *Neon Genesis Evangelion*. Pure hype. Or even the original Japanese *Dragon Ball Z* opening. Legendary!

And look, I appreciate the effort. Seriously. Someone sat down and wrote those lyrics. Someone performed them with enthusiasm (probably). I'm not knocking the people involved. I'm knocking the... end result.

The Good Stuff (I Promise!)

And let's be honest, it's catchy. Even if it's annoyingly catchy. You find yourself humming "Dragon Dragon!" at the most inappropriate moments. Like during a funeral.

Honestly, the biggest problem is the missed opportunity. Dragon Ball Z is epic! It's about screaming super saiyans, earth-shattering battles, and spiky hair that defies gravity. The opening should reflect that!

It should get you pumped! It should make you want to run through a wall and shout "Kamehameha!" (Please don't actually do that.)

Instead, "Rock the Dragon" is... fine. Serviceable. It's like ordering a pizza and getting a perfectly adequate slice of cheese. You're not mad, but you're not exactly thrilled either. You wanted pepperoni, man!

Alternatives Exist!

The other openings are SO much better. "Cha-La Head-Cha-La" (even the English version) is iconic. It's upbeat, energetic, and perfectly captures the spirit of the show.

The later *Kai* openings are also improvements. They feel more modern, more intense, more... *Dragon Ball Z*.
