Ed Gein The Butcher Of Plainfield Trailer

Okay, folks, let's talk Ed Gein. You know, the "Butcher of Plainfield?" The guy who makes your skin crawl just hearing his name?
The Trailer: A Glimpse Into... Madness?
So, they made a trailer, right? For... something about him. Another documentary? A movie? Honestly, I lost track of all the Ed Gein-related media ages ago.
And here's my unpopular opinion: I'm kinda bored. Not bored with true crime, mind you! Just... Ed Gein. We get it.
Is it *Really* Necessary?
Seriously, haven't we dissected every inch of that farmhouse? Every disturbing detail plastered all over the internet? I mean, come on!
Do we *really* need another close-up shot of a lampshade allegedly made of human skin? I'm just saying. I think my stomach can only handle so much.
Like, I appreciate the effort and all. I understand some people are fascinated by the morbid details. But maybe, just maybe, we could give the poor guy a rest. Even in infamy.
Maybe focus on a different, less-exploited case? There are plenty of creepy stories out there. Spread the horror around, people! Variety is the spice of life, even when that life involves serial killers.
The "Intrigue" Factor... or Lack Thereof
I get the whole "delving into the human psyche" angle. The "understanding the darkness" thing. But with Ed Gein, it feels... overdone.
Like, we *know* he had mommy issues. We *know* he was a weirdo. Do we need another dramatic reenactment of him digging up graves?
Maybe this is just me being desensitized. Maybe I've watched too many true crime documentaries while folding laundry. Possible!
Unpopular Opinion: Lampshades Are Overrated
Let's be honest. The lampshade gets all the attention. But what about the other stuff? The bowls? The chair seat? Did those items not suffer enough? It is almost like a Lampshade Discrimination.
Seriously, the media needs to give a little love to other items of the house. Maybe a "Behind the Artifacts" documentary? Just a thought.
Okay, I'm kidding. Mostly. But still, give the lampshade a rest. We get it. It's creepy. Moving on!
So, Will I Watch It?
Probably. I'm a sucker for true crime. I'll probably hate-watch it while simultaneously scrolling through TikTok.
I'll loudly proclaim how unnecessary it is, then secretly binge-watch the whole thing. Don't judge me! We all have our vices.
And who knows? Maybe it'll actually offer something new. Maybe it'll reveal some previously unknown detail that will completely change my perspective. Unlikely, but hey, a girl can dream. Or, more accurately, a girl can hope for a slightly less boring true crime documentary.
Maybe next time, let's focus on a case that is not as well-documented and let Ed Gein and his infamous lampshade have their deserved rest. Or, you know, not.
Ultimately, it is your choice. I am merely suggesting!
Don't @ me.
