Emotional Vampire What We Do In The Shadows

Okay, let's talk What We Do In The Shadows. Specifically, emotional vampires.
We all know Colin Robinson, right? The energy-sucking day-walker. But are we sure he's the only one?
Unpopular Opinion: Everyone's a Little Bit Emotional Vampire
Hear me out! I'm not saying Nadja, Laszlo, and Nandor are draining people dry literally.
But they are... a lot. And needy. And totally oblivious to how they affect others.
Nandor the Relentless, the Needy
First, Nandor. Bless his ancient heart, he’s a sweetheart. But his desperation for a familiar, and then a wife? It's intense.
He sucks up Guillermo’s time, energy, and unwavering loyalty. Plus he makes the djinn work overtime! Talk about draining someone.
Is it just me, or does Nandor always need someone to fix his problems?
Nadja, the Drama Queen (Vampire)
Then we have Nadja. Love her to bits, she's hilarious and fierce.
But girl is always in some kind of drama. Ghost Nadja, the doll, the vampire council meetings...it's exhausting just watching.
Imagine being her friend! You'd constantly be putting out fires. A very stylish, vampire-themed fire, granted.
Laszlo, the… Well, Laszlo
Laszlo Cravensworth is… Laszlo. He's a genius artist, a dirty old man and devoted to Nadja.
He's also a bit of a chaotic vortex. His schemes (like Jackie Daytona!) are hilarious. But they also involve a lot of other people cleaning up his messes.
Plus, his constant need for Nadja’s attention has to be a bit draining, even for her. His neediness comes in the form of constant admiration.
Guillermo: The Ultimate Support System (and Potential Victim)
Poor Guillermo. He's the real unsung hero of the show. He saves the vampires' butts constantly.
He cleans up their messes, deals with their problems, and basically enables their ridiculous lifestyles.
He’s like a human emotional sponge, soaking up all their vampire drama. Is he getting enough back in return?
Even Colin Has His Moments (Besides the Obvious)
Okay, Colin Robinson is *supposed* to be the energy vampire. But think about it.
He’s also often the most grounded member of the group. He gives advice, helps with practical problems, and sometimes even motivates them.
Sometimes, Colin provides a much needed reality check to his housemates. Does that restore any energy?
The Point Is…
Maybe we're all a little bit emotional vampires, sometimes. We all have moments where we lean on others a little too much.
Or we create drama, or just generally need attention. It's human (or, you know, vampire) nature.
The trick is to be aware of it. To try not to drain the people around us too much. And maybe offer them a cup of tea (or a glass of type O negative) every now and then.
So, next time you're watching What We Do In The Shadows, ask yourself: who's really sucking the energy in this scene? It might surprise you!
And maybe, just maybe, you'll recognize a little bit of yourself in those lovable, chaotic vampires.
