Evangelion 3 You Can Not Redo

So, you've seen some Evangelion, maybe even the original series? Buckle up, because Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo takes things to a whole new level of... well, Evangelion-ness. It's like someone took the already weird and emotional rollercoaster and strapped rockets to it.
From Trauma to... Chores?
Remember Shinji, the perpetually stressed pilot? He wakes up after being essentially cryogenically frozen for fourteen years. Turns out the world went even more sideways than he left it.
But here's the fun part: He's suddenly got responsibilities! Think less piloting giant robots, more... gardening.
Yep, Shinji's new life involves tending to a garden alongside a whole bunch of kids in a surprisingly wholesome community. It's like Evangelion meets a really intense farming simulator.
The Mysterious Rei Q
And then there's Rei Ayanami, or at least a version of her. This isn't your stoic, blue-haired girl from before. This Rei, or Rei Q as fans call her, is a blank slate.
She's got this adorable curiosity about everything. She asks questions about the simplest things, like "What is 'dirt'?" It's strangely endearing amidst all the apocalyptic drama.
Her interactions with Shinji are... awkward. But also kind of sweet in their own weird, Evangelion way. It's a breath of fresh air after all the angst.
Asuka's Sass Level: Over 9000
Let's not forget Asuka, the fiery redhead. She's still around, still piloting, and still as sarcastic as ever. In fact, her sass level has probably increased exponentially during those fourteen years.
She's got eye patch, which makes her look even cooler (and more intimidating). Her interactions with Shinji are basically just her yelling at him, but in a strangely comforting way.
You know, because that's just how Asuka shows affection. Or, you know, mild tolerance.
The Surreal Visuals
One of the best things about Evangelion 3.0 is the visuals. The animation is stunning. The ruined landscapes are both beautiful and horrifying.
There are these incredible, bizarre machines that look like something out of a fever dream. Seriously, the artists went wild with the designs in this one.
Even the colors are vibrant and strange, adding to the overall sense of unease and wonder.
The Emotional Core (Still Intact)
Beneath all the mind-bending plot twists and bizarre imagery, there's still that Evangelion heart beating. Shinji's struggles with identity, connection, and trauma are still front and center.
He's trying to make sense of a world that's moved on without him, and desperately seeking some kind of connection. It's a powerful and relatable theme, even if the circumstances are a bit... extreme.
It's messy, confusing, and emotionally exhausting, but that's why we love it. It's Evangelion, after all! It wouldn't be Evangelion if it didn't leave you feeling like you need a therapy session and a hug.
Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo is a wild ride. It's funny, strange, and surprisingly heartwarming in its own twisted way. So, grab some snacks, prepare for a visual feast, and dive in. You might not understand everything, but you're guaranteed to feel something.
