Evangelion 3.0 You Can Not Redo Watch

Evangelion 3.0 You Can Not Redo Watch

Okay, folks, gather 'round! Let’s talk about a movie that’s less of a movie and more of an experience. I'm talking about Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo. Buckle up, buttercup, because this one’s a ride.

Imagine ordering a pizza. You’re expecting pepperoni, maybe some mushrooms. But what arrives is…a pizza topped with seaweed, motor oil, and a single, lonely gummy bear. That's kinda the vibe of 3.0.

A Visual Feast (of Confusion!)

Visually, it’s stunning. Like, jaw-dropping, paint-your-apartment-in-neon-colors stunning. The animation is so smooth, it makes silk sheets feel like sandpaper. Think vibrant colors, bizarre landscapes, and robots doing things that would make even the most seasoned engineer scratch their head.

But underneath all that visual pizzazz…well, there’s a story in there somewhere. You just might need a team of astrophysicists, a philosopher, and your grandma who’s really good at jigsaw puzzles to piece it together.

Shinji, Our Confused Boy

Poor Shinji. Remember him? Our perpetually overwhelmed protagonist? He’s back! And he's even more lost than he was before. He's like a puppy who wandered into a techno-rave.

He wakes up after being asleep for 14 years. Everyone’s mad at him. The world’s even more messed up than before. He just wants to pilot his giant robot and maybe get a hug. Is that too much to ask?

Spoiler alert: it probably is.

Think of it like this: imagine you went to sleep after watching the first two Harry Potter movies. You wake up, and everyone’s suddenly speaking fluent Quenya, Voldemort is a cuddly teddy bear, and Ron Weasley is the Dark Lord. That’s about the level of disorientation we’re dealing with here.

The "What Did I Just Watch?" Factor

That's the beauty of 3.0! You'll finish it, blinking, wondering if you accidentally took some of Lilith's blood (Evangelion fans will get that one). It's a movie that sparks conversations, fuels theories, and sends you down internet rabbit holes at 3 AM.

Did I understand everything? Absolutely not. Did I enjoy the sheer spectacle of it all? Absolutely yes! It's the kind of movie that sticks with you, like that weird dream you can't quite shake off.

It's a movie that wants to be unpacked and debated. Even though you don't know what's being debated.

The Music, Though!

Let's not forget the soundtrack! Shiro Sagisu is back, and he's brought the musical heat. The music is epic, haunting, and strangely uplifting. It's the kind of soundtrack that makes you want to pilot a giant robot, even if you have no idea what you’re doing.

The music alone is reason enough to give this movie a watch, even if you spend half the time scratching your head. Trust me on this.

The themes are big and heavy. Existentialism, isolation, identity... it's all in there. It's the kind of movie that makes you question your place in the universe. After it beats you around a bit.

So, Should You Watch It?

Look, Evangelion 3.0 isn’t for everyone. If you like your stories neatly packaged and easily digestible, you might want to steer clear. But if you’re up for a challenge, if you enjoy being confused and amazed in equal measure, then dive right in!

Just remember to bring a friend, a notebook, and maybe a therapist. You’ll probably need them. Oh, and snacks. Definitely bring snacks. Lots of them.

Here's a tip: Watch the movie. Then watch it again. Then read some fan theories. Then watch it AGAIN! You still won't understand everything. But you'll have a great time trying!
