Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon Unit Tier List

Let's talk Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. Specifically, who’s awesome and who...isn't. Tier lists, right? Everyone loves (and loves to argue about) them.
The Usual Suspects: S-Tier Gods
Okay, let’s get this over with. Caeda. Is anyone surprised? She flies, she dodges everything, and she one-shots dragons. Obviously S-tier.
Then there's Cain and Abel. Classic cavaliers are good. Enough said.
And of course Ogma. Strong, reliable, and ready to roll. Solid S-tier material.
A-Tier All-Stars: Pretty Darn Good
Now we're moving on to those who are reliable. Navarre. A Myrmidon that can kill everything is good. What is not to love!
Hardin. He's a solid character and a strong unit. I'd pick him any day.
Don't forget Lena. Healing is good in this game, and she does it well.
B-Tier: Perfectly Acceptable
Draug is next up. He's slow but has good defense. Reliable in the early game.
Julian is also in this tier. He can open chests, which is good. He can also fight a little, which is also good.
Let’s not forget Barst. He can be reclassed into a decent fighter or warrior. He is dependable enough.
C-Tier: Now We're Getting Interesting
Okay, here's where the hot takes start. Gordin. I know, I know, archers are bad in this game. He exists though, so here he is.
Next is Wrys. He is a worse healer than Lena. He exists only to be reclassed into someone else.
Matthis. Okay, listen, I know he’s terrible. But hear me out. He has *potential*! Okay, maybe not, but I still have a soft spot for him. He’s so bad, he’s almost good? Almost.
D-Tier: The "Maybe Don't Use" Club
Okay, let’s be honest. Some units are just...rough. We've got Sedgar. Even Jagen thinks he's bad.
Next up is Vyland. I don't even remember him half the time. I can't even tell you how to use him.
And of course, Bord and Cord. They could be good as warriors, but who wants to train them?
The F-Tier: Just...No
And now, the bottom of the barrel. I present to you, Jagen. It's always hilarious watching Jagen struggle against the weakest of foes.
Next is Marth. Yes, the main character. No, he isn't very good. Unless he uses the Rapier, he is almost useless.
Okay, hear me out about Rickard. He's bad, I know. But I respect him for having the audacity to exist. He's terrible, but endearingly terrible. He steals things and then hides behind better units.
My Unpopular Opinion?
Okay, here’s my spicy take. I actually like using Matthis. Seriously. Yes, he's awful. But there's a certain charm to taking a complete underdog and turning them into something...slightly less awful. It's a challenge, and I like a challenge.
Plus, think of the bragging rights. "Yeah, I beat the game with Matthis as my MVP." Who wouldn't be impressed? Or at least deeply confused?
So, next time you play Shadow Dragon, give Matthis a chance. Or don't. It's your game. But just remember, sometimes the worst units can be the most fun.
