Games To Be Released In 2018

Remember 2018? Feels like ages ago, doesn't it? We're talking dinosaurs, dial-up internet... okay, maybe not that long. But still! Let's dig up some gaming gold (or should I say, potentially fool's gold?) from that year.
A Blast From the Past (Games Edition)
2018 had some HUGE releases. We saw sequels, reboots, and some completely fresh ideas. But were they all good? Let's just say my opinions might be a tad controversial.
The Big Guns
Red Dead Redemption 2. Need I say more? Everyone was obsessed. Cowboys, horses, and robbing trains. I'm just saying, I preferred the first one.
Okay, okay, hear me out! Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's the slightly less overwhelming open world. Don't @ me!
Then there was God of War. Kratos went dad mode. He threw axes and yelled at his son. Great game, but honestly, I missed the old angry, god-slaying Kratos a little.
I get it, character development. I just liked the screaming better.
The Underdogs (That I Loved)
Now, let's talk about some games that flew under the radar. Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Medieval realism at its finest. And by "finest" I mean clunky but charming.
This game was rough around the edges. But the story and world were captivating! I spent hours just wandering around the Bohemian countryside.
Also, can we give some love to Subnautica? Underwater exploration with a healthy dose of terror. Giant alien leviathans? Yes, please!
I spent half the game hiding in my escape pod. But that's part of the fun, right? The fear!
The Divisive Ones
Fallout 76. Oh, Fallout 76. Promises were made. Hopes were dashed. Bugs were... plentiful.
Okay, I'll admit it. I actually had some fun with it. But mostly because it was a train wreck you couldn't look away from.
And then there's Sea of Thieves. Pirate adventures with your friends! Sounds amazing, right? It was… okay.
It felt a little empty at launch. Sailing around doing fetch quests got old fast. Though, the ocean did look really pretty.
The Ones I Missed (Oops!)
Okay, full disclosure. I didn't play everything that came out in 2018. I know, gaming sin! Forgive me!
I completely skipped Spider-Man on PS4. I know, I know. Sacrilege! I'll get to it eventually, I swear.
I was also late to the Assassin's Creed Odyssey party. Ancient Greece? Open world? Seems right up my alley. One day!
The Verdict?
2018 was a pretty solid year for gaming. Even if some games didn't quite live up to the hype. We got some classics, some surprises, and some glorious messes.
And hey, at least we had something to argue about on the internet. Isn't that what gaming is all about?
So, what do you think? Did I miss any hidden gems? Do you agree with my controversial opinions? Let me know!
