God Of War 3 Zeus Battle Theme

Okay, let's talk about something potentially controversial. Something near and dear to my heart. Something that might make some God of War fans clutch their pearls.
I'm talking about the music during the final fight with Zeus in God of War 3.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Ready? Here it comes. Deep breath... I don't think it's that good.
I know, I know! Sacrilege! Blasphemy! Throw me into the River Styx! But hear me out before you sharpen your Blades of Chaos.
The Epic-ness is Undeniable...
Don't get me wrong. The entire fight is epic. The setting is mind-blowing. Kratos is, well, Kratos. Everything screams "This is the culmination of everything!"
And the visuals! Goodness, the visuals are intense. The whole thing is a visual masterpiece.
But... the music? It kinda gets lost in the mayhem, doesn’t it?
...But The Music?
Think about it. What do you actually remember about the music? Is there a specific melody that sticks in your head?
Or is it just a general feeling of "epic orchestral stuff happening"? Because that's how it feels to me.
Maybe it's the sound of Kratos grunting. It could also be the smashing and crushing of your enemies under your feet.
Compared to What?
Compare it to the theme from the fight against Ares in the first God of War. That music slaps! It's iconic. You hear it, you know it's God of War.
Or even the God of War 2 soundtrack! Some truly unforgettable moments there.
And it is not only that. The music from the first game sets the tone to the whole franchise. The second one builds on that.
Too Much Happening?
I think the problem might be that there's just too much going on during the Zeus fight. It's sensory overload.
Between the quick-time events, the brutal violence, and the sheer scale of the battle, the music gets kind of... muddled.
The score fades into the background. So sad, indeed.
Is It Bad? No!
Let's be clear: the music isn't bad. It's perfectly competent. It's just... not as memorable as it could have been, considering the importance of the scene.
If you love it, that's totally fine! Music is subjective. This is just my quirky take.
And maybe, deep down, I wanted something as unforgettable as the beatdown Zeus was about to receive.
Am I Alone?
I can't be the only one who feels this way, right? There must be others out there who think the Zeus fight music is a little... underwhelming?
Come on, admit it! Don't be afraid! We can start a support group for those who are lukewarm on the God of War 3 final battle theme.
Maybe we can even petition Bear McCreary to remix it. Who is with me?
Ultimately...
Look, God of War 3 is a masterpiece. This is just one tiny, nitpicky thing that I wanted to get off my chest.
And even if you disagree with me, that's cool! We can still be friends. We can even still enjoy ripping and tearing through mythological creatures together.
But I stand by my opinion: the Zeus fight music is... fine. Just fine.
"BOY!" -- needs better music.
