Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Trailer

Okay, Let's Talk Cursed Child Trailer...

So, the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child trailer dropped. The internet exploded. Did I cheer? Maybe not as loudly as everyone else.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Potterhead. Always have been. But something about this sequel... it gives me pause.

The Kids Are All Grown Up! (Kinda)

We see Harry, Ron, and Hermione all grown up. They look… older. Obviously. Time marches on, even in the wizarding world.

But something about their expressions. Is it just me, or do they all look perpetually stressed? Like they’re about to face another Voldemort level crisis?

Maybe that's just parenthood though. Been there. Know that look.

Albus Severus, the Troubled Teen

Okay, let's be real. Albus Severus Potter has issues. We knew this was coming. The poor kid has a heavy name to live up to.

He's all angsty and rebellious. Runs off to join forces with Draco Malfoy's kid, Scorpius? What is happening?

Is it just me or did they decide to re-write the ending in a play? And not the kind of rewrite that is better. Like a "Fan-Fiction" rewrite.

Time Travel… Again?

Ugh, here we go again. Time-turners. Messing with the timeline is NEVER a good idea, people! Have they learned nothing?

Seriously, hasn't Hermione warned everyone enough about the dangers of mucking about with time? Plot hole alert!

Maybe it's all a clever ruse. A misdirect? I'm hoping.

The Costumes Tho...

Alright, some of the costumes looked pretty epic. The dementor-esque figures were genuinely creepy. Points for that!

But some of the other choices? A bit… theatrical, perhaps? It's a stage play, I get it. But still….

Let's just say, I wouldn't wear that to Diagon Alley.

Am I the Only One?

Look, I understand the nostalgia. The desire to revisit the wizarding world. The need to know what happens next.

But something about Cursed Child feels... different. Maybe it's because it's a play. Maybe it's the time travel plot.

Or maybe, and this is my unpopular opinion, some stories are best left as they are. Seven books. A perfect ending. Let it be!

It's Still Harry Potter, After All...

Despite my reservations, I'll probably still watch it. Or read it. Or at least read a very detailed synopsis online.

Because, let's face it, it's Harry Potter. I'm a sucker for the magic. Always will be.

But I'm also going in with slightly lowered expectations. Don't break my heart, Cursed Child!
