How To Get The First Four Shrines
Okay, so you've stumbled blinking into the world of Hyrule, possibly wearing some rather fetching (or not) starting trousers. Your first mission? Not saving the world, no sir! It's mastering the art of, well, not dying immediately. And that means grabbing those first four shrines on the Great Plateau.
Waking Up and Getting Ready
First, chat with the old man. He’s awfully cryptic but trust me, he knows what he’s doing. Consider him your Zelda-whispering grandpa, dropping hints cloaked in riddles. Listen carefully and he will guide you in the right direction!
The Oman Au Shrine (Magnesis)
Our inaugural shrine requires the power of Magnesis! Basically, you get to become a magnetic superhero. Use it to pull up those metal plates blocking your way and to create a metal bridge.
Don’t be afraid to experiment! Honestly, the first time I used Magnesis, I spent a solid five minutes just throwing metal boxes around like a toddler with building blocks. It was strangely therapeutic.
The Ja Baij Shrine (Stasis)
Next up is the Ja Baij Shrine where we get to play with Stasis. This nifty power lets you freeze objects in time. Think "Pause" button in real life, but only for inanimate objects.
The real fun comes from hitting the frozen object repeatedly. All that stored-up energy unleashes when time resumes, sending it flying. Aim carefully! Or, you know, don't. Sometimes the chaos is the reward.
The Owa Daim Shrine (Remote Bomb)
Ready to cause some controlled (or uncontrolled) explosions? The Owa Daim Shrine gifts you with Remote Bombs. You get both round and square ones, perfect for different bombing situations.
A pro-tip: don’t stand too close when detonating the bombs. Trust me on this one. I may or may not have learned that lesson the hard way, resulting in Link ragdolling across the room.
The Keh Namut Shrine (Cryonis)
Our final starting shrine introduces the power of Cryonis, turning water into climbable ice pillars. This is incredibly useful not just for this shrine, but also for traversing Hyrule’s many watery obstacles later on.
Think of it like your personal ice bridge maker. You’ll be saying goodbye to freezing swims and hello to icy ascents in no time!
The Reward (and a Paraglider!)
Once you conquer all four shrines, head back to the old man. Turns out he’s not just some random wanderer. He’s the former king of Hyrule in spectral form. Talk about a plot twist!
As a reward, you get the paraglider! Now you can glide gracefully (or clumsily) across Hyrule. This little beauty opens up the entire world for exploration.
