How To Make An Auto Smelter In Minecraft

Okay, picture this: You’ve just spent an hour hacking away at a mountain. Now you’re swimming in more raw iron than Scrooge McDuck in his money bin! But, uh oh, your arm is starting to cramp from all that clicking and smelting.

Fear not, fellow crafter! We’re about to build an auto-smelter. It's gonna be so easy, even a creeper could (probably not) do it.

Gather Your Goodies

First, you'll need the usual suspects. You’ll need at least three chests to start. We’ll need Hopper (the item transport wizard!), a Furnace, and some fuel.

Now, crouch and place yet another Hopper on the side of the Furnace. Fuel time! This Hopper is dedicated to all things combustible.

Charcoal, coal, wood. Even lava buckets (if you're feeling particularly spicy)! All is accepted in this Hopper's fuel belly.

Step 4: The Grand Finale (Chest Placement)

Time for the chest trifecta! Place a chest on top of the top Hopper. This is where the raw ore goes.

Lastly, place another chest on top of the fuel Hopper. Fill these chests with materials and fuel for the Furnace.

Step 5: Feed the Beast

Load up those chests! Fill the top one with ore, and the side one with fuel.

Now stand back and marvel at your creation. See those ingots piling up in the bottom chest? Beautiful!

Troubleshooting Time

"It's not working!" Don't panic! First, make sure all the Hoppers are actually connected to the Furnace or the chest.

That crouching trick is key! If the Hoppers are pointing in the wrong direction, they're just being difficult teenagers.

Expand Your Empire

Feeling ambitious? You can build more auto-smelters side-by-side. Create an entire industrial smelting complex!

Imagine the possibilities! Mountains of iron, gold, diamonds. You'll be the richest crafter in the whole wide world.

Beyond the Basics

Want to get fancy? Try using blast furnaces or smokers for specific items. Or add more chests and Hoppers for increased storage.
