I Am A Woman I Am Fearless

Okay, let's talk. About being a woman. And supposedly being fearless. I have some... thoughts.
We've all seen the mugs. "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar!" Or something equally empowering. I even own one. (Don't judge!). But roar all the time? Seriously?
Maybe that's the problem. Maybe we're expected to be too much. Too perfect. Too… fearless.
Fearless: A Funny Concept
Fearless? Ha! I'm pretty sure my inner monologue mostly consists of: "Did I leave the stove on?" and "Is that a weird stain on my favorite shirt?"
I'm not exactly scaling Mount Everest blindfolded. More like… cautiously approaching a spider in the bathtub. With a very long-handled broom.
But you know what? That's okay. That's real.
Real women aren't *always* fearless. They're just… women.
The "Shoulds" of Womanhood
We're bombarded with "shoulds," aren't we? We should be strong. We should be independent. We should juggle careers, families, and flawless eyebrows. And be fearless while doing it!
I call baloney. It's exhausting just thinking about it.
I propose a new motto: "I am woman. I am doing my best. And sometimes my best involves eating chocolate in my pajamas."
That should be on a mug, don't you think?
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Here's the thing: I think admitting fear is actually a strength. Gasp! I know! Blasphemy!
Acknowledging that something scares you means you're aware. You're thoughtful. You're… human.
And sometimes, acknowledging that fear allows you to do things anyway. Because you're brave enough to try, even when your knees are shaking.
That's real fearlessness, in my book. Not pretending the fear isn't there.
Embrace the Imperfect
So, let's ditch the pressure to be constantly fearless. Let's embrace the imperfections. The anxieties. The occasional "Ugh, what am I doing?" moments.
Let's be women who are complex. Who are messy. Who are sometimes scared silly. And who are still incredibly awesome.
Let's be fear-full, and still kick butt. Because that's way more interesting anyway.
And maybe, just maybe, buy ourselves another "I Am Woman" mug. But this time, know it's okay if we're sipping tea instead of roaring. Peace out.
Maybe Beyoncé is always fearless. But I'm pretty sure even *she* has days where she just wants to order takeout and watch Netflix. Just saying.
So, to all the women out there: Be you. Be brave. Be scared. Be whatever the heck you want. Because you're amazing, no matter what.
