In Another World With My Smartphone Ep

Okay, Let's Talk About In Another World With My Smartphone
So, I jumped into the isekai craze, you know? Everyone's getting hit by trucks and reincarnated these days. And I ended up watching In Another World With My Smartphone.
Let's just say it was... an experience. I think I have some *unpopular* opinions about it.
The Plot: A Little *Too* Convenient?
Our hero, Touya, gets accidentally killed. Then, God, being the nice guy, brings him back to life. With his smartphone, naturally.
It’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Like, accidental death insurance level sweet. Except instead of money, you get magic powers. And a smartphone.
Everything just feels... too easy for Touya. Seriously, the challenges are like speed bumps. He just breezes past them. It makes me wonder about the stakes.
Harem Antics: Am I The Only One Who...?
Okay, the harem situation. Touya basically collects wives like Infinity Stones. Each one cuter and more devoted than the last.
Now, I'm not saying harems are inherently bad. But this one just felt... forced? Like the anime was checking boxes on a "How to Isekai" checklist.
Is it just me, or do they all fall for him *way* too fast? I mean, the guy's nice, sure. But instant, undying devotion after a single heroic act? Come on!
The Smartphone: The *Ultimate* Cheat Code
The smartphone itself is kind of ridiculous. It's basically a god-tier tool. Instant translations, unlimited internet access, all in a medieval fantasy world?
Talk about bringing a nuke to a sword fight. I feel like it diminishes the challenges. Why even bother training magic when you can just Google the answer?
I just think they didn’t explore the true potential of the phone as a plot device. They could have made it glitchy, or have limited service.
Magic System: Overpowered... Much?
Touya's magic is, to put it mildly, broken. He learns every type of magic instantly. He can even create new spells on the fly.
It feels like the writers just wanted him to be all-powerful, immediately. Where's the growth? Where's the struggle? I miss that stuff!
Plus, he's so modest about it! "Oh, this super powerful magic? No big deal." Dude, own your power!
Is it all bad? *Absolutely* not!
Despite my gripes, I can see the appeal. It's a chill, easy watch. Sometimes, you just want something you can turn your brain off for.
The animation is pretty, the characters are generally likeable. And there's a certain charm to the sheer absurdity of it all.
But, I think it could have been so much more. With a little more depth, a little more struggle, and a little less overpowered smartphone action.
So there you have it, a handful of my unpopular opinions. Am I alone in thinking this? Or are there others out there who feel the same way?
