Into The Spider Verse End Credit Scene

Okay, let's talk Spider-Verse. Specifically, THAT end credit scene.
You know the one. The one with Spider-Man 2099. Miguel O'Hara bursts onto the scene, ready for action!
Everyone went wild. Hype levels reached maximum overdrive. But, and this might be controversial... I wasn't *quite* as blown away as everyone else.
It Was Cool, Don't Get Me Wrong!
First, let's acknowledge the obvious. Oscar Isaac's voice? Perfection. The animation style? Slick and sharp.
His whole demeanor screamed "future brooding superhero." I got it. But did it *need* to be there?
Maybe my expectations were just too high. Or maybe I just really, really love chickens.
He Felt... Detached.
The rest of Into the Spider-Verse was so heartfelt. It felt like a warm hug from your friendly neighborhood spider-person.
Miles Morales’ journey felt so grounded. The emotional core, about family and believing in yourself, was what made it amazing.
Then suddenly, BOOM! Here's this super serious guy from the future. He felt… distant.
It felt like a trailer for the next movie, but it missed the point of the first movie.
The Humor Was Off
The whole movie was funny. Peter B. Parker's "dad bod" antics. Spider-Ham's cartoonish violence.
The jokes were organic and fitted the narrative. It flowed together seamlessly.
But the end credit scene? Not so much. It felt like a completely different kind of humor.
The "Go get me a bagel from that one place" line felt… forced. Like they were trying too hard to be funny.
It was amusing, sure, but it didn't have the same charm as the rest of the film. Give me a chicken with a web-shooter instead!
My Unpopular Opinion
Here it is, folks: I think the end credit scene was slightly overrated.
It didn't ruin the movie. Into the Spider-Verse is still a masterpiece. It just felt like a weird tonal shift.
It set up the sequel, yes. But at the expense of the first movie's ending impact.
Was it necessary? Did we really need that glimpse into the future?
Maybe the mystery would've been better. Let the anticipation build naturally.
It's Still Exciting, Though!
Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped for the sequel! Spider-Man 2099 looks awesome!
But I think Into the Spider-Verse was perfect. Flawless. The end credit scene felt like a… well, like a post-it note slapped on the Mona Lisa.
Maybe I'm just being a grumpy Gus. And maybe I'll change my mind after seeing the next movie.
But for now, I stand by my slightly unpopular opinion. It was good, not great. And not nearly as funny as Spider-Ham's mallet.
Now, who's with me? Or am I all alone on this weird island of dissenting opinions?
Let me know what you think! And remember to always believe in yourself. Even if you have the unpopular opinion about the Spider-Verse end credit scene.
