Okay, picture this: You've been waiting. Waiting, waiting, waiting. For what? Season 2 of Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, of course!

The Hype is Real (Or Is It?)

Then BAM! Episode 1 drops. Excitement explodes! Everyone’s talking about it. Was it everything we dreamed of?

Maybe… maybe not. Don't get me wrong, I like Kenichi. I really do.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)

Here's the thing: Episode 1 felt... a little slow? I know, I know! Blasphemy! But hear me out.

We spent a lot of time recapping. Remember that villain? How about that training? It felt like a giant, "Previously on Kenichi…"

Look, I get it. Some people need a refresher. But I was ready for new punches and fresh training montages!

The opening fight was decent. But compared to some of the earlier season one brawls? It felt a little… tame.

Kenichi's Still Got It... Right?

Don't get me wrong, Kenichi is still our lovable wimp turned warrior. Seeing him struggle, then overcome, is the whole point.

And Miu? Still kicking butt and taking names. I mean, come on, who *doesn't* love Miu?

The *Ryozanpaku* masters are as eccentric as ever. Apachai is still breaking things. Shigure is still mysteriously awesome. Everything feels familiar!

The New Threat (Maybe)

We got a glimpse of a new baddie, right? A shadowy figure lurking in the background. Classic villain entrance.

They're probably super strong and have some crazy martial art. It's gonna be tough for Kenichi. I’m assuming.

But let's be honest. Every new villain is "the strongest yet." It's a shonen trope we all know and (secretly) love.

Hopes for the Future

So, episode one wasn't a total knockout. That's okay. It's just the beginning, right?

I’m hoping for more inventive training sequences. Ryozanpaku needs to step up their game. Maybe teach Kenichi how to fly?

More importantly, I want to see Kenichi grow. Not just stronger, but smarter, more confident. More like Miu, in terms of confidence.

Final Thoughts (For Now)

Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I expected too much. It happens!

But I still believe in Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. It’s got heart, humor, and some seriously cool fight scenes (eventually, I hope!).

So, I’m sticking around for the ride. Episode 1 might have been a slow start, but I’m betting the season will pick up. Fingers crossed! What do you think?
