The Never-Ending Story (Almost)

Seriously, how many are there? It feels like author Tappei Nagatsuki is just having a blast writing forever.

I think there are like, over thirty main series novels now? Plus side stories! My wallet weeps.

Is anyone else slightly overwhelmed? Good, I'm not alone.

The Main Arc Madness

Each arc is a whole new level of suffering for Subaru. I low-key enjoy it, don't judge me.

Arc 1: The Capital City - a classic start. Meet cute, die repeatedly. You know, normal stuff.

Then Arc 2: The Mansion. Ram and Rem enter the scene. And then the *real* chaos begins!

Arc 3: Crusch Camp. Politics! Betrayal! More death! It's a party!

Don't even get me STARTED on Arc 4: Sanctuary. Trauma city population: Subaru.

Arc 5: Pristella. It's like a bad vacation. Giant whales, cults...avoid!

Arc 6: Pleiades Watchtower. Subaru loses his memories. As if he hadn't suffered enough.

Arc 7: Vollachia. Things are...different. Subaru is playing the villain? Intriguing.

Arc 8: Still Ongoing! Who knows what fresh hell awaits?

Unpopular Opinion Time

Okay, some arcs are better than others. I said it!

Arc 4 is great, I know. But does it REALLY need to be that long? My attention span is begging for mercy.

And let's be honest, the side stories? Some are amazing, some are...fluff. Guilty pleasure fluff, but still.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Re:Zero. But maybe, just maybe, a little editing wouldn't hurt?

I mean, imagine catching up only to have the story never ends. I'm not saying don't write more, Tappei Nagatsuki! Just...pace yourself?

Where To Start? (And Should You?)

Start with Volume 1, obviously. Duh.

But are you prepared for the commitment? It's like starting a really long TV series. Only with more reading.

Maybe watch the anime first? It covers the first few arcs. That way, you can assess your tolerance for suffering Subaru.

Just kidding (mostly). Re:Zero is amazing. Even with its intimidating length.

Dive in! Just don't blame me when you find yourself muttering "Return by Death" under your breath after a particularly bad day.

Because honestly, who hasn't felt like Subaru at least once in their lives?
