My Name Is Noah How You Doin

Hi, I'm Noah. Yep, like the Ark guy. But instead of animals, I collect… well, opinions.
Specifically, opinions about names. And mine? It's a conversation starter. Or sometimes, an eye-roller.
The Noah Effect
Let's be honest. Noah is pretty common. I know, I know. Shocking, right?
At every class, meeting, and awkwardly silent elevator ride, there is always another Noah. Sometimes two!
We nod. We acknowledge each other. It's a silent understanding: "We chose… poorly."
The "How You Doin'?" Dilemma
And then there's the other thing. The inevitable… "How you doin'?" It's the Joey Tribbiani effect. You know, from Friends?
I get it. It's a joke. It's a reference. But after the millionth time? It's a bit like a soggy biscuit. Slightly underwhelming.
It's fine, really. I force a smile. I muster a chuckle. I even occasionally respond with "Could *I* BE wearing any more clothes?"
But inside? I'm screaming. Silently, of course. I wouldn't want to ruin the joke.
Unpopular Opinion Time
Okay, here's where I get controversial. Brace yourselves.
I think... the "How you doin'?" joke is overrated.
Gasp! I know, I know. Blasphemy!
Look, I love Friends. I binge-watched it. I can probably quote entire episodes. But the joke? It's…tired.
Alternative Greetings, Please
I'm not asking for much. Just a little originality. A little spark.
How about "Nice to meet you, Noah"? Or even just a simple "Hello"? Groundbreaking, I know.
I'd even accept a bad pun at this point. "Noah lot about you," perhaps? Okay, maybe not.
But anything is better than the same old "How you doin'?" line. Please, I beg you.
The Noah Redemption Arc
Despite my minor grievances, I do like my name. It has a nice ring to it.
It's easy to spell. It's easy to pronounce. And it (supposedly) means "rest" or "comfort."
Which, ironically, is exactly what I don't get when someone says "How you doin'?"
Embrace the Noah-ness
So, fellow Noahs of the world, I salute you. We are legion. We are… slightly irritated by a certain catchphrase.
But we are also bearers of a classic, solid name. A name that evokes images of arks, rainbows, and (hopefully) fewer stale jokes.
And to everyone else? Just try to be a little creative. I promise, I won't bite. Unless you say "How you doin'?" again.
Just kidding! (Mostly.) But seriously, try something new. For me? For all the Noahs out there?
Thank you. And... nice to meet you. I'm Noah.
