It's Pretty Good, Just...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my time with it! The art style is super cool. The music? Absolutely slaps.

But sometimes, it feels like it's trying *too* hard to be cool.

Rindo's a Bit Bland, No?

Remember Neku from the original? He was an angsty, headphone-wearing loner. He was memorable.

Rindo? He's... nice? Pleasant? I honestly sometimes forget he's the main character!

Maybe I'm just getting old, but his 'chill' attitude isn't as compelling. Give me teen angst any day.

The Combat: Flashy, But...

The combat is visually impressive. Pins flying everywhere! Enemies exploding in rainbows of light!

But juggling multiple pins at once? My brain can barely handle balancing my budget. Let alone coordinating button presses with pin cooldowns.

After a while, it becomes a bit of a button-mashing frenzy. Is it just me, or does it feel less strategic than the original's stylus-based battles?

Shibuya: Same, But Different

Shibuya looks gorgeous in HD. Walking around Udagawa and Scramble Crossing is visually stunning.

But somehow, it feels less... lived-in? Like a perfectly curated Instagram feed. Give me the grit of the original game.

Maybe the rose-tinted glasses are strong, but old Shibuya just hit different.

Maybe I'm Just Being Nostalgic

Look, the game is good. It's got a great story, interesting characters (besides maybe Rindo), and a killer soundtrack.

But the original The World Ends With You just had this... magic. This spark.

Neo tries really hard to capture it. It's admirable, but doesn't quite hit the mark.

Though I still secretly dream of a true-to-the-original remake. With Neku. And the stylus controls. Don't @ me.
