New Initial D The Movie Legend 3 Dream

Okay, let's talk Initial D: Legend 3 Dream. Remember that movie? The one that wrapped up Takumi's first act? Good times...mostly.

I'm just gonna say it. Maybe it's just me, but... I think it’s the least awesome of the Legend trilogy. There, I said it!

The Feels, The Racing, The…Meh?

Don’t get me wrong! Seeing Takumi finally face off against Ryosuke Takahashi is epic. The animation is still gorgeous. The soundtrack? Banger after banger!

But something about Dream just feels…rushed? Like they were trying to cram too much into one movie. Anyone else feel this way?

Maybe it’s because the manga and the original anime had more time to breathe. Or maybe I was just expecting more drama after the intensity of Legend 2.

The Takahashi Brothers: One Shines, One…Doesn’t?

Let's be real, Ryosuke is the star of this show. He's cool, collected, and his FC RX-7 is a thing of beauty.

But what about Keisuke? He's just...there. Don't get me wrong, the FD is great. However, he lacks something.

Compared to his brother, he's kind of bland. Sorry, Keisuke fans! No offense.

The Race That Felt…Too Short?

The final race against Ryosuke is supposed to be the climax. The culmination of Takumi's skill.

And it is exciting! But does it feel…too quick? It seems so.

I know, I know, they had to fit everything in. But I wanted more back-and-forth! More tension! More 86 vs. FC goodness!

Unpopular Opinion Time

Here’s where things get spicy. I think Legend 3 benefits from a rewatch. It can get better!

But the pacing still bothers me. Am I alone here?

Maybe I'm just nitpicking. Maybe I'm too attached to the original anime. Regardless, Legend 3 remains a little bit bland.

The Animation: Still a Win!

One thing I can’t complain about is the animation. Initial D: Legend always delivers on visuals.

The cars look amazing, the drifts are smooth, and the characters are expressive. Studio SANZIGEN did a fantastic job. The CG is perfect.

Even if the story feels a bit rushed, at least it looks pretty!

Final Thoughts: Still Worth Watching?

Absolutely! Initial D: Legend 3 Dream is still a must-watch for any Initial D fan.

It's part of the story and bridges the gap to the later stages.

Just maybe, keep your expectations in check. It is a nice conclusion to the series.
