Sesame Street C Is For Cookie Monster Dvd

Okay, I'm just going to say it. And brace yourselves, because this might be controversial.

I think the Sesame Street "C is for Cookie Monster" DVD is…overrated.

Is Cookie Monster Really *That* Great?

Don't get me wrong. I love Sesame Street. I grew up on it. I even named my goldfish Elmo once (he didn't last long).

And Cookie Monster? He’s iconic. Blue fur, googly eyes, insatiable hunger for all things cookie-related.

But is he DVD-starring-role iconic? That’s the real question.

A Bit…Repetitive, Perhaps?

Think about it. The C is for Cookie Monster DVD is basically an hour of one joke. And one action. Devouring cookies.

Sure, there are variations. Sometimes he learns about sharing. Sometimes he sings about cookies. But it always comes back to: COOKIES!

My kid watched it three times in a row. By the third viewing, even *I* was starting to crave vegetables.

Other Characters Deserve Love Too!

Sesame Street has a whole roster of amazing characters. Why not a "B is for Bert" DVD? Or a "G is for Grover" extravaganza?

I'd watch a whole DVD of Oscar the Grouch complaining. Seriously. His negativity is strangely comforting.

And let's be honest, Elmo is the real money-maker. A "Tickle Me Elmo: The Origin Story" DVD would print money!

Maybe I'm Just a Bad Parent

Okay, maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe kids just really, REALLY love cookies.

And maybe the sheer simplicity of Cookie Monster's obsession is what makes him so appealing to toddlers. Simple pleasures, right?

Or maybe I'm just secretly jealous that Cookie Monster can eat all the cookies he wants and not gain a pound. That's probably it.

Unpopular Opinion: Activated!

So, yeah. That's my unpopular Sesame Street opinion. The "C is for Cookie Monster" DVD is a little bit…much.

I still love Sesame Street. And I still think Cookie Monster is hilarious. Just, maybe in smaller doses.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go eat a kale salad. And maybe hide the cookies from myself. And possibly watch some Oscar the Grouch clips.
