Shut Up And Play The Hits Stream

Okay, I Said It: The *Shut Up And Play The Hits* Stream is...Overrated?
Don't get me wrong. I love LCD Soundsystem. Like, REALLY love them.
But am I the only one who thinks the endless Shut Up And Play The Hits stream is…a bit much?
The Hype is Real (Too Real?)
I get it. It's a legendary band. A legendary show. And a legendary film.
But every few months, BOOM! There it is again. "Shut Up And Play The Hits is streaming RIGHT NOW!"
It's like, we get it. You filmed it. We saw it.
My Confession: I Skip the Talking Parts
Look, I'll admit it. I usually skip the talking parts. James Murphy moping around? Seen it.
Yes, the interviews are insightful. Yes, it adds context. But sometimes I just want the bangers.
Give me "All My Friends" without the existential dread preamble, please.
The "Live" Experience...At Home
And let's be real. Watching a live stream isn't the same. You aren't sweating with strangers.
You aren't spilling beer on your shoes. No surprise appearances.
You're in your pajamas, probably eating cereal. It lacks the *je ne sais quoi* of actually being there.
Is it Just Me?
Am I the only one who feels this way? Am I committing some kind of indie sacrilege?
Probably. But I had to say it.
It's like that one friend who keeps showing you the same meme. It was funny the first time, dude.
Other Great Concert Films Exist!
There are other amazing concert films! Stop Making Sense, anyone? Give me some Talking Heads action!
Or what about *The Last Waltz*? Scorsese! The Band! Come on!
Let's spread the love around. The concert film universe is vast and beautiful.
I'm Not Hating, I'm Just Saying...
Look, I'm not hating on Shut Up And Play The Hits. It's a great film. Really.
But maybe, just maybe, it doesn't need to be streamed every other Thursday.
Maybe it's time to let it rest. Like LCD Soundsystem did...for a little while, anyway.
My Solution: A Rotational Concert Film Stream
Here's my genius idea: a rotational concert film stream! Imagine a different band every week!
We could have Radiohead one week, Beyonce the next. The possibilities are endless!
Someone make this happen. Please.
So, Stream or Skip? You Decide.
Ultimately, it's up to you. Stream Shut Up And Play The Hits if you want to!
Enjoy James Murphy's angst and those sweet, sweet synths.
But maybe, just maybe, consider exploring some other concert films too. You might be surprised what you find.
And if you see me skipping the talking parts, no judgement, okay?
Just let me dance!
