Okay, confession time. I just watched the latest episode of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. And, well, I have thoughts. Maybe even…controversial thoughts?
Rimuru's Power-Up: Still Awesome, Right?
Everyone's obsessed with Rimuru getting stronger. I get it! Seeing a slime become a demon lord is pretty darn cool. But sometimes, I miss the simpler days.
Remember when he was just absorbing plants and weird ores? Now it's world domination time! It's exciting, sure, but also… a little overwhelming?
Character Development: A Slow Burn
Let's talk characters. Everyone is shouting about Shion and Diablo. They are indeed powerful and loyal.
But, does anyone else think some of the side characters are a bit…underdeveloped? Maybe it's just me. I want more backstory!
I feel like there are so many cool characters that they could explore! More screen time for the lizardmen, please!
The Politics: Snooze Fest or Strategic Masterclass?
Okay, this is where my unpopular opinion really starts to simmer. The political stuff. All the negotiations and nation-building.
Some fans are all about the strategic genius. I find myself reaching for my phone. Am I the only one yawning during council meetings?
Don't get me wrong, world-building is important. But sometimes it feels like a lecture. I want slime action!
Give me monsters! Give me epic battles! Give me Rimuru swallowing a giant spider whole!
Is it still fun though?
Despite my grumbles, I'm still watching. Obviously! That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is still a fun watch.
The animation is gorgeous. The fight scenes are well done. Rimuru is still a lovable protagonist.
I just think, sometimes, it gets bogged down. Too much talking, not enough… well, slime-ing!
The Real MVP: Gobta?
Hear me out. While everyone's fawning over the ridiculously overpowered characters. I think Gobta is the real MVP.
He is always there, he's always trying, and he's usually failing hilariously. He is the most relatable character.
He is the heart of the show! Let’s be honest, we all feel like Gobta sometimes. Clumsy, underpowered, but trying our best.
Gobta for Demon Lord! Okay, maybe not. But definitely for Best Supporting Character in my heart.
So, there you have it. My slightly controversial thoughts on the latest Slime episode. Am I completely off base?
