The Hype Was Real... Or Was It?

Seriously, people acted like it was the second coming of video games. Masterpiece this, game of the century that. I'm here to say... I have some thoughts.

Don't get me wrong, it's not *bad*. Just...overhyped?

The Combat System: Bone-Crushingly Repetitive?

The combat was supposed to be revolutionary. Strategically using bone shards for maximum damage? Cool concept!

But after the tenth identical skeleton warrior? My "strategy" became "mash attack button until it dies." Anyone else feel me?

I mean, the animations were kinda neat. But only for, like, five minutes.

The Story: Yawn of the Ancients

The story was...epic. Ancient prophecy. Chosen one. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

I’ve seen that plotline more times than I've seen ads for teeth whitening. And I drink a *lot* of coffee.

I honestly spent half the game wondering if I should skip the cutscenes. Then I wondered if there were snacks in the fridge.

Unpopular Opinion Time (Brace Yourselves)

Okay, here it comes. The Bone Sword itself? Overrated.

Sure, it looked cool. Glowing bone and all that. But was it *really* that much better than the, say, Steel Scimitar of Slightly-Less-Ancient-Evil?

I think not. Maybe the *stats* were better, but the feel of the scimitar made me happy. Happiness is important!

The Side Quests: Fetch Quest Frenzy

Side quests are a staple of RPGs. Go here, kill that, bring me ten badger pelts.

The Legend Of The Bone Sword took this to a whole new level. I spent more time fetching than fighting.

Seriously, I think I single-handedly caused the extinction of several species of virtual rodents. My conscience still hasn't recovered.

It's Not All Bad (Promise!)

I don’t want to sound like I *hated* the game. The soundtrack was pretty great.

And the character designs? Some of those bone-themed armor sets were genuinely cool. I’d wear a bone-themed hat.

It had its moments. Just... not enough of them, in my humble opinion.
