The Road To El Dorado You're Not A God

Okay, let's talk. You know that movie, The Road to El Dorado? Cute movie, right? But something's been bugging me.
The Golden City... and Imposter Syndrome
Miguel and Tulio stumble into El Dorado. They're mistaken for gods. Hilarity ensues.
But think about it. Wouldn’t you be FREAKING OUT? Like, major panic mode setting in?
I mean, seriously. Suddenly, you're expected to have divine powers. People are praying to you!
Lying About Your Resume... To A Whole Civilization
It’s like lying on your resume. Except the consequences involve angry priests and possibly human sacrifice. No pressure!
Imagine trying to fake omniscience. "Uh... the crops will be... good... probably?" Awkward.
And the dancing! Don't even get me started. Pretending you know ancient rituals? That's a one-way ticket to humiliation town.
We've all felt a little like an imposter, right? Maybe at a new job. Or that fancy party where you didn’t know anyone.
My Hot Take: We All Feel Like Tulio Sometimes
That's why The Road to El Dorado resonates. We're all faking it till we make it. But usually on a smaller, less deity-centric scale.
Think about your last accomplishment. Did you REALLY know what you were doing? Or did you wing it and hope for the best?
Be honest. We're all just stumbling through life, hoping we don't accidentally cause a flood or misinterpret a prophecy. Mostly.
And that's okay! It's normal. It's... human.
Embrace Your Inner Non-God
So, next time you feel like you're not qualified, remember Miguel and Tulio. Remember El Dorado.
They were con artists, yes. But they were also resourceful and quick-thinking. And they eventually did the right thing.
Maybe you're not a god. Maybe you don't have all the answers. But you're probably smarter and more capable than you give yourself credit for.
Plus, being a regular human has perks. Like eating delicious (non-divine) food without judgment. And sleeping in.
No sacrifices required. Unless you count giving up that last slice of pizza. Which is, admittedly, a tough one.
So, Unpopular Opinion: It's Good To Be Ordinary!
So, here's my totally controversial, earth-shattering opinion. You're NOT a god. And that's perfectly fine.
Embrace your limitations. Embrace your imperfections. Embrace your ability to mess things up and learn from them.
Because honestly? Authenticity is way more impressive than fake divinity. And less likely to result in a gold-induced crisis.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go practice my “God-like” dance moves. Just kidding… mostly.
