The Witch And The Beast Volume 11

Okay, let's talk about The Witch and the Beast, specifically volume 11. I know, I know, everyone's been waiting for it. But am I the only one feeling… something?
Don't get me wrong! I still love it! But things are getting a little complicated, aren’t they? All those mysteries and backstories.
Is it just me, or is it getting harder to keep up? Like, who is related to who again?
Evolving Storylines: A Bit Too Much?
We started with a simple premise. Guideau kicks butt and Ashaf is… Ashaf. What's not to love?
But now we're dealing with ancient curses, hidden lineages, and political intrigue. It feels like the author watched too much Game of Thrones.
Is it still about a witch and her beast companion, or are we solving a magical family tree at this point? Just asking!
The Side Characters Stealing the Show?
Don't get me wrong, I love the new characters. They are all so interesting!
But they’re almost *too* interesting. Sometimes I feel like Guideau and Ashaf are just cameos in their own story.
Like, “Oh hey, it's Guideau! Remember her? She's the main character, supposedly."
My Unpopular Opinion: Bring Back the Monster-of-the-Week!
Remember the good old days? When they fought a different weird monster every chapter?
That was so much fun! Pure, unadulterated monster-slaying goodness.
Now it's all politics and prophecies. Where's the fun in that? I miss the simple chaos.
Guideau: From Savage to… Savvy?
I love Guideau’s wild energy! She's a force of nature.
But in volume 11, she seems… calmer? More strategic? It's like she drank a cup of chamomile tea and decided to be reasonable.
I get character development, but I miss the impulsive, destructive Guideau who punched first and asked questions later.
Ashaf: Still Enigmatic, Still Awesome
Okay, Ashaf is still great. He's the only constant in this rapidly changing world.
His dry wit and calm demeanor are always appreciated. Even if he's hiding a million secrets.
Seriously, what IS his deal? I feel like we'll never truly know. And that's okay, I guess.
Final Thoughts: Still Hooked, But…
Despite my little gripes, I'm still totally invested in The Witch and the Beast. I’ll still be buying the next volume the second it comes out.
But I hope the author remembers what made the series so great in the first place: The dynamic between Guideau and Ashaf!
And maybe, just maybe, a few more monster-of-the-week scenarios wouldn't hurt. Just saying.
So, what do you think? Am I completely off base? Or are you feeling a little overwhelmed too?
Let's discuss! (But please be nice to me. This is just my opinion!)
