Ty Hodges Don T Look Under The Bed

Okay, Hear Me Out: Don't Look Under the Bed Is Underrated.
Let's talk about a Disney Channel Original Movie. A DCOM, to be precise. The one with the Boogeyman.
I'm talking about Don't Look Under the Bed. Yeah, the one that probably scared you as a kid. Or, if you're like me, secretly thrilled you.
Is it just nostalgia goggles?
Maybe. Probably. But I'm still standing by this. Don't Look Under the Bed holds up. Fight me.
And let's give some respect to Ty Hodges! He played Larry Houdini. A cool, imaginary friend trying to help Frances.
He wasn't the sidekick. He was integral to the plot. Hodges brought a unique charisma to the role.
Think about it. Larry was blamed for all the pranks. Frances was getting the heat. Chaos reigned supreme in their town!
The Story Was Actually Pretty Good
It wasn't just some silly monster movie. It actually dealt with some deeper stuff. Like being misunderstood and accepting what others think is weird.
Frances was smart. She was driven. But no one believed her. Until, of course, Larry showed up.
And yes, the Boogeyman was creepy. No argument there. I am still a little scared to this day.
Unpopular Opinion Time
Here it comes. This is a hill I'm willing to die on. Don't Look Under the Bed is one of the best DCOMs ever made.
I know, I know. *Halloweentown* gets all the love. And *Zenon* is iconic. But there's something about this movie that just hits different.
It's not just the horror aspect. It's the characters. The story. The overall message.
Also, can we acknowledge how good the acting was? For a DCOM, it was pretty solid. Especially from Erin Chambers as Frances McCausland.
Don't Look Under the Bed: A Movie to Appreciate
I think the movie's maturity is often overlooked. The film touched on issues relevant to older kids. It also dealt with anxiety.
Let's face it, a lot of the other DCOMs were pretty light and fluffy. This one actually had some substance.
So, next time you're scrolling through Disney+, give *Don't Look Under the Bed* another shot. Watch Ty Hodges shine.
You might be surprised at how much you still enjoy it. Or, you might still think it's terrifying. Either way, it's worth a watch!
Maybe you'll agree. Maybe you'll think I'm crazy. But I'm sticking to my guns.
Don't Look Under the Bed deserves more love. It's a DCOM gem. Pure and simple.
