Ultraman Cosmos The First Contact Full Movie

Okay, let’s be honest. Remember Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact? We all saw it, right? It was a *thing* back then.
A Childhood Memory (Or Was It?)
I have this vague memory of being SO excited for it. Giant monsters! Ultraman! What could go wrong?
Turns out, a lot. But hear me out.
The Good (Sort Of)
First off, Cosmos is a pretty cool Ultraman design. He's got that gentle, peaceful vibe going. Much less punchy than some of the others.
The idea of calming monsters instead of just beating them up? Innovative! A little bit pacifist maybe?
And Musashi! A kid who wants to befriend monsters? Awwww.
The Not-So-Good (Ahem)
Here's where my unpopular opinion comes in. I... I think it's kinda boring. Sorry, not sorry.
Remember all those training montages? And the really, *really* slow monster battles? They dragged. I mean, they *really* dragged.
I’m pretty sure I spent half the movie wondering when things would, you know, explode.
The Monster Mash (Kind Of)
Let’s talk about Lithia, the main monster. Big, glowy, kinda...blobby?
It just wasn’t as intimidating as, say, Gomora. Or even Baltan! Give me claws and evil eyes any day.
Lithia's whole "I'm just misunderstood" thing felt a little overdone. Even for a kid, I was rolling my eyes.
"Maybe if they just communicated better!" - Me, probably, aged 8.
Is it just me?
Don’t get me wrong, the message of peace is great. I applaud the sentiment.
But action-wise? It's a bit of a snooze fest. Compared to, say, Ultraman Tiga... no contest.
Maybe I was expecting more epic monster battles. Explosions! Lasers! Mayhem! Instead, I got... gentle persuasion.
The Verdict (Unpopular, Maybe?)
So, here it is: Ultraman Cosmos: The First Contact is... fine.
It’s a nice, wholesome movie with a good message. But it’s not exactly edge-of-your-seat entertainment.
Don’t get me wrong, the *concept* is awesome. But the execution? Could’ve used a little more… *oomph*.
Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m too bloodthirsty. But I prefer my giant monster movies with a side of, you know, *fighting*.
I will always remember it and appreciate the gentle theme and how much Musashi believed in peace and friendship.
But hey, at least Cosmos looked cool while doing it. Right?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch some classic Ultraman and relive my childhood with more explosions. Don't judge.
