My Hot Take: I Miss It

Here's my unpopular opinion: I kind of miss that chaotic mess. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

I know, I know, it was a bit much. But hear me out.

Remember how easy it was to finally get that god roll? The one you'd been chasing for months? Suddenly, within reach!

I felt like a kid in a candy store. Except the candy was legendary weapons and armor. And the store was the Astral Alignment activity.

Astral Alignment: A Love Story

Speaking of Astral Alignment, let's give that activity some love. It got a bad rap. But it was the key to the Umbral Engram flood!

Yeah, it could be repetitive. And sometimes those Taken Hobgoblins were straight-up rude.

But it was efficient. And that's all that mattered to me. Unga bunga, collect engrams!

I won't lie, I got pretty good at it. I could probably run Astral Alignment in my sleep. Maybe I did.

The Thrill of the Decrypt

Then came the best part: decrypting those Umbral Engrams! The anticipation! The excitement!

Would it be a masterpiece? Or just another shard? The suspense was killing me. (Okay, maybe not killing me.)

It felt like winning the lottery. Except the prize was a slightly better stat roll on a pair of gloves. Still, I took it!

Was It Too Much? Probably. Did I Complain? Maybe a Little. Do I Still Miss It? Absolutely.

Look, I understand the complaints. Too many engrams, not enough vault space. The struggle was real.

But it also meant that even casual players had a real shot at getting good gear.

That's important, right? Accessibility for all!

Plus, it gave me something to do. Other than stare blankly at the Tower, wondering what to do next. So, thanks Season of the Lost!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good challenge. A tough raid boss. A sweaty Trials match.

But sometimes, I just want to mindlessly grind for loot. Is that so wrong?

Maybe I'm just a simple Guardian. I see Umbral Engrams, I collect Umbral Engrams.

Bring Back the Flood! (Please?)

I promise I won't complain... too much. Maybe. Probably not.

And yes, I know Focusing exists now, and it's *supposedly* better. But there was something about the sheer volume of engrams... it felt right!
