Wrestlemania 28 Undertaker Vs Triple H Full Match

Okay, real talk. We need to discuss WrestleMania 28. Specifically, The Undertaker vs. Triple H. You know, the "End of an Era" match?
Everyone always says it's some legendary masterpiece. A five-star classic for the ages! I'm going to say something a little controversial here.
I think it's…overrated. There, I said it.
The Epic Build-Up (That Was Maybe Too Epic?)
Don’t get me wrong, the build-up was AMAZING. The intensity! Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee? Chef's kiss. Pure drama.
The promos gave me goosebumps. Honestly, they could have just aired those promos on repeat for three hours and I would have been entertained.
The stakes were high, like, retirement-level high. But sometimes, too much build-up sets you up for disappointment.
The Match Itself: A Little…Slow?
Here’s the thing: the match felt long. Really long. Like, "did I accidentally start watching in slow motion?" long.
I get it, they were telling a story. A story of attrition, of two legends giving it their all. But my attention span is about as long as a goldfish's.
There were rest holds! So many rest holds. I needed a rest from the rest holds.
Also, the sledgehammer shots. Okay, those looked brutal. But they kept hitting each other with sledgehammers like it was Tuesday. How are they not concussed into oblivion?
The Shawn Michaels Factor
Shawn Michaels was the wildcard here. And, he was good in his role. He sold his internal conflict brilliantly.
However, he also spent a lot of time looking conflicted. Which, again, added to the length. My bladder started feeling conflicted too.
I appreciate the drama, but sometimes, less is more, right?
The Ending: Redemption?
The ending was great, I'll give them that. The Undertaker winning, keeping the streak alive. The post-match hug between the three legends? Heartwarming.
That moment, where they all walked up the ramp together, arm in arm? *chef's kiss* But did it make up for the slog of the previous 30 minutes?
Maybe? I’m still on the fence.
Unpopular Opinion: It's Good, Not God-Tier
Look, I'm not saying it's a *bad* match. It's not. It's good. Solid B+ territory.
But is it a five-star, all-time classic? I don't think so. My unpopular opinion is that people remember the *moment* more than the match itself.
The nostalgia is strong with this one. And nostalgia can blind you to the flaws. I have fond memories of terrible movies from my childhood. I'm not immune.
Maybe I'm just being a contrarian. Maybe I need to rewatch it with a fresh perspective.
Or maybe, just maybe, it's okay to admit that even legendary matches can be a little…boring at times. Don’t @ me.
