Metlife Stadium Bag Policy: What’s Allowed Inside The Venue

Heads up, stadium-goers! MetLife Stadium has strict bag policies in place, and knowing them can save you time and hassle at the gate.
This article breaks down what you can and can't bring inside, ensuring you're prepared for your next Jets or Giants game, concert, or event.
Approved Bags: Keep It Clear and Compact
The cornerstone of the MetLife Stadium bag policy is transparency and size limitations. Only clear bags are permitted, and they must not exceed 12" x 6" x 12".
A one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) is also acceptable.
Small clutch bags or purses are allowed, but they can’t be larger than 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap.
Prohibited Items: What To Leave Behind
Backpacks, regardless of material, are strictly prohibited. This includes clear backpacks.
Any bag larger than the approved sizes will not be permitted inside the stadium.
Other prohibited items include (but are not limited to): hard-sided bags, coolers, briefcases, and luggage.
Exceptions to the Rule
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a designated gate.
Diaper bags are permitted, but they are subject to search and must accompany an infant or young child.
Enforcement and Consequences
MetLife Stadium personnel strictly enforce the bag policy. Expect thorough inspections at all entry points.
Guests attempting to bring prohibited items into the stadium will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them.
There are no storage facilities available at the stadium for prohibited items.
Game Day Logistics: Plan Ahead
Arrive early to allow ample time for security screening. Knowing the rules beforehand streamlines the entry process.
Consider leaving unnecessary items at home or in your vehicle to minimize delays.
Check the MetLife Stadium website or contact guest services for the most up-to-date information and any event-specific exceptions.
Stay Informed: Ongoing Updates
MetLife Stadium reserves the right to modify its bag policy at any time.
Continue to check the official website for updates, especially before attending a specific event.
Staying informed ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience at MetLife Stadium.
