Blinking Red Light On Delta Touch Faucet

Okay, let's talk about something that's been bugging me. It's a first-world problem, I admit. But it's a problem nonetheless: the blinking red light on my Delta Touch faucet.
Specifically, the relentless, unwavering, almost mocking blink.
The Faucet's Silent Judgment
It sits there, perched above my sink. That tiny red LED is just blinking. It seems to be judging my dishwashing skills.
Like it's saying, "Oh, another dirty plate, huh? Guess I have to help you AGAIN." Maybe I'm projecting.
But I stand by my unpopular opinion: blinking lights on kitchen appliances are inherently passive-aggressive.
Is It Necessary?
I get it. It's a low battery indicator. Important, sure. But did it have to be SO insistent?
Couldn't it just, you know, glow steadily? Or fade in and out gently? Maybe even send me a text message instead?
The blinking is overkill, Delta. Overkill!
Think about it: every time I walk into the kitchen at night, BAM! A tiny red beacon of shame reminding me I haven't changed the batteries.
My Imaginary Conversation With My Faucet
Sometimes, I swear, I have conversations with the faucet.
"Yes, I know, I know! The batteries are low!" I whisper to the sink at 2 AM.
"I'll get to it, I promise! Just... stop blinking."
The Battery Search
The search for the correct batteries is a whole other ordeal. Is it AA? AAA? Some weird proprietary battery only available on Tuesdays?
It's always when I'm out of them. Every single time.
So, the blinking continues. My shame deepens.
The irony is, when the batteries are finally replaced, the faucet works perfectly. No complaints. Just flawless, touch-activated water flow.
But for those few days... that blinking light is a constant companion.
My Solution (Sort Of)
My current solution? Ignoring it. Which, admittedly, isn't very effective.
I tried putting a piece of tape over it. But then I was just left with an annoying red glow seeping around the edges.
So, I'm back to the blinking. Resigned. Defeated. Slightly irritated.
Am I Alone?
Surely, I can't be the only one driven slightly mad by this tiny, blinking light. There must be others. Others who understand the silent frustration.
Others who have considered duct-taping their entire faucet in protest.
So, if you're out there, fellow blinking-red-light sufferer, know that you're not alone. We are legion! Or at least, a small, slightly disgruntled group of people.
And maybe, just maybe, Delta Touch will hear our cries. Maybe they'll redesign the low battery indicator to be... less offensive.
Until then, I'll keep searching for those batteries. And the perfect piece of opaque tape.
Because, honestly, that blinking light is starting to affect my mental health. I may need therapy. My therapist may need a new faucet.
