Destiny 2 Darkness In The Light Quest

Let's talk Destiny 2 quests. Specifically, the Darkness in the Light quest. It's how you get your hands on the infamous Malfeasance hand cannon.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "But it's Destiny 2, everything takes forever!" And you are not wrong.
A Quest...That's a Lot
This quest is…a journey. A long, winding, occasionally confusing journey.
You start by getting the Seething Heart in the Gambit mode. Easy enough, right? Wrong.
Suddenly, everyone is a Gambit god, and you’re just trying not to get invaded. Good luck with that.
Gambit Blues
Gambit! Oh, Gambit. A beautiful mess of PvE and PvP. You're collecting motes while trying to dodge death and enemy invaders.
Then you must defeat the Ascendant Primeval Servitor. Which requires a team. And a prayer to the RNG gods.
Seriously, coordinating with randoms to summon and kill the Primeval? A Herculean task worthy of its own quest step.
After the Primeval is down, you must win Gambit matches. Winning is the hard part, of course, especially when you're solo.
I swear, sometimes I think my teammates are actively trying to lose. But hey, at least I'm getting better at banking motes with a sliver of health.
The Invasion Part
The quest gets a little spicy! We need to invade other teams in Gambit and take them out.
You either kill the other team, or you kill them while you are invading. Or you need your team to kill invaders!
If you manage to wipe the opposing team by yourself, kudos to you. You're a Gambit hero. I wish I was.
"Wait, I have to get kills as an invader? But I’m terrible at PvP!" - Probably You
The Final Hurdle
Alright, last step! A special version of the Corrupted strike. This requires some serious firepower. And probably friends.
This strike will test your patience, your teamwork, and your ability to throw orbs accurately. Good luck with that last one.
The final boss is a nightmare, but feels amazing to take her down. That is if you can survive long enough.
Is It Worth It?
Here's the controversial part: Is Malfeasance worth all the trouble? Eh. Maybe?
The quest is fun. The gun is alright. It's not the meta-defining weapon it used to be.
However, there is a certain satisfaction in finally getting your hands on it. A sense of accomplishment. A sigh of relief.
Plus, it looks cool. Style points matter.
So, should you do the Darkness in the Light quest? If you like a challenge, a little Gambit mayhem, and a hand cannon that screams "I earned this," then absolutely.
If you value your sanity and your win rate in Gambit? Maybe skip this one. There are plenty of other guns to chase.
Just don't blame me if you end up spending the next week in Gambit. We've all been there.
Happy hunting, Guardians!
