Okay, let's be honest. Far Cry New Dawn is pretty. Pink trees! Superpowers! Mutants!

But something always bugged me. Something small, yet persistently annoying. I think I finally figured it out.

Resources are a *Pain*

It's the constant need for resources. Always scrounging for duct tape and gears. Feels like more scavenging than shooting, doesn't it?

Then comes the outposts. I love taking down outposts. Stealthy, explosive fun. Except...

Suddenly, all my hard-earned ethanol is gone! Bandits swoop in like digital seagulls. Rude.

Stolen Resources: The Ultimate Buzzkill

Seriously, who designed this system? You spend ages liberating an outpost.

You feel powerful! Like a wasteland warrior! Then BAM! An hour later, it's plundered. What gives?

It's not even about the resources, really. It's about the *principle*! I cleared that outpost!

Those Highwaymen are dead! Or at least, they *should* be! Why are they still stealing from me?

Upgrading is Suddenly Tedious

I wanted to upgrade my workbench. Needed more gears, naturally. Cue the resource hunt again. *Sigh.*

Finding those components for those weapons are a chore. It felt less like progression, more like a grind. I just want to blow things up.

The constant fear of losing stuff just saps the fun. It feels less like conquering the wasteland, more like being nickel-and-dimed by it.

My Unpopular Opinion

Maybe I'm alone in this. Maybe everyone else loves the resource management aspect. Maybe they enjoy constantly defending their territory.

But I don't. I want to shoot things! I want to explore! I want to enjoy the pink trees without worrying about someone stealing my springs!

The gameplay should be enjoyable. Getting robbed all the time is not enjoyable gameplay.

The Highwaymen Are Basically Loot Goblins

Let's face it, the Highwaymen are just glorified loot goblins. They exist solely to steal your stuff.

They aren't particularly interesting villains. They are just annoying obstacles between me and my fun.

"Oh, look at me, I'm wearing a tire and carrying a pipe wrench. I'm gonna steal your ethanol!" No thanks.

A Simple Solution?

Maybe a toggle to disable outpost raiding? Or at least, make it less frequent. Maybe the resources that were stolen are simply recovered upon retaking the outpost.

I’d even settle for a ridiculously powerful alarm. One that alerts me the moment someone even *thinks* about stealing my stuff.

Then I can unleash my inner wasteland vigilante! No more stealth, just pure, unadulterated righteous fury.

Far Cry New Dawn: Still Fun, But...

Don't get me wrong. Far Cry New Dawn is still a fun game. The graphics are great.

The weapons are satisfying. The story is... well, it's a *Far Cry* story. But that buzzkill feeling. That tiny seed of frustration. It's always there.

It's the knowledge that no matter how much you accomplish, someone is always waiting to steal your stuff. It's just... *annoying*.

Maybe the real treasure wasn't the friends we made along the way, but the resources we lost to the Highwaymen.

Just kidding. Give me back my gears, please.
