How To Make Supply Lines Fallout 4

Ever feel like your Fallout 4 settlements are more like feuding neighbors than a happy commonwealth? You’ve got Sanctuary overflowing with purified water, but the good folks of Starlight Drive In are drier than a Deathclaw’s toenail.
The Lone Wanderer's Logistician Dream
Fear not, weary traveler! The answer, surprisingly, is not duct tape (though that helps, too). It’s the magical, mystical, sometimes-buggy-but-mostly-reliable Supply Line.
Finding Your Pack Mule… Er, Settler
First, you need a willing (or at least not violently opposed) settler. Approach one of your jumpsuit-clad residents. Ensure they aren’t already assigned to guard duty or meticulously sweeping the same patch of dirt for the tenth time.
Now comes the crucial part: the Local Leader perk. You need rank 1 of this perk, found under the Charisma stat. If you’re short on Charisma, chug some Grape Mentats! Become the silver-tongued devil (or at least slightly more persuasive wanderer) you were always meant to be.
With the perk unlocked, approach your chosen settler in workshop mode. Point your cursor at them and press the command button. This will bring up a selection of tasks.
Connecting the Dots (or Settlements)
Among the options, you'll see "Supply Line". Click it! A map pops up, displaying all your claimed settlements. It’s like playing logistics manager with a Pip-Boy.
Select the settlement you want to connect to your current one. Pick a settlement where resources are plentiful. Or one that’s just really, really close by.
Congratulations! You've just appointed a provisioner! Watch them transform into a post-apocalyptic delivery person, bravely traversing the wasteland with a heavily laden pack brahmin.
The Brahmin Express
Speaking of brahmin, these two-headed cows are the unsung heroes of your supply chain. Keep an eye out for them lumbering along the roads. Sometimes they get stuck on rooftops. Sometimes they start fighting with random robots. They have their own adventures.
Your provisioner will travel between the two settlements. A steady stream of resources is shared. This allows you to build bigger and better things in both locations.
If you're feeling extra generous, equip your provisioner with some decent gear! Giving them a good weapon and armor can make their journey a bit safer. You might even spot them taking down a pack of feral ghouls along the way.
Troubleshooting the Triumphs and Tribulations
Supply lines aren't always perfect. Sometimes they break. Sometimes provisioners go missing. It’s all part of the charm.
If a supply line disappears, revisit the settlements involved. Check if your provisioner is still assigned and alive. And if everything appears as it should be.
Don’t overthink it. Sometimes the game just hiccups. Reassigning the supply line usually fixes the problem. Blame the synths.
A Commonwealth United (…Sort Of)
Building supply lines makes Fallout 4 more than just a solo adventure. It turns it into a commonwealth-building simulator. Connecting your settlements fosters a sense of community, even if that community is held together by duct tape, brahmin farts, and the occasional super mutant raid.
So, go forth and conquer the logistics of the wasteland! Build your empire. Befriend your brahmin. And remember, a well-supplied settlement is a happy settlement. Especially when it's got enough purified water to drown a Mirelurk.
