My Hot Take: Leonid & Friends Cover 'Wish You Were Here'

Okay, folks, let's talk Leonid & Friends. You know, that band of supremely talented musicians from Russia? They cover classic rock songs.

And they do it really well. But I have a confession to make.

The 'Wish You Were Here' Cover: So Close, Yet...

Their rendition of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"? It's good. Like, technically flawless good.

I can't deny their talent. I mean, Leonid Vorobyev and the whole crew are unbelievably skilled.

But...and here's where the potential tomatoes come flying...is it *better* than the original? Nope.

The Heart vs. The Head

Hear me out! The original has a certain...je ne sais quoi. A rawness. A vulnerability.

It's like comparing a perfectly crafted diamond to a gorgeous, slightly flawed gemstone found in nature.

Both are beautiful, but one just *feels* more authentic. I'll take the gemstone, please!

Perfect Harmony, Missing Soul?

Leonid & Friends nail the harmonies. They nail the instrumentation. Absolutely perfect.

Leonid & Friends' vocalist is great, but it's just...different.
