Okay, let's talk about something maybe a little... controversial.

Remember that Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" performance in 2018?

I think... I think it was kinda... meh.

Don't Get Me Wrong!

Look, I adore Survivor.

Jeff Probst is basically a god in my living room every Wednesday night.

And "Eye of the Tiger" is an absolute anthem. No arguments there.

The Rocky montage? Legendary.

Pumping iron at the gym? Necessary to survive.

Belting it out in the car? A weekly ritual.

But... The Performance

Something about the live performance just didn't quite land for me.

Maybe it was the pressure of the moment. Maybe it was the sound mixing.

Whatever it was, it felt... off.

Did anyone else think the vocals were a little strained?

Or that the band seemed just a *tad* bit stiff?

Don't @ me! (But also, do... I'm curious.)

It's like when your favorite pizza place has an off night.

You still love them, you still order, but that one pizza was just... not their best.

We all have those moments, even Survivor.

The Hype Train!

I felt like I was on a hype train heading straight for Disappointmentville.

Everyone was SO excited, and I was trying so hard to be, too!

But inside, I was just thinking, "This could be better."

Maybe I set my expectations too high.

Blame Rocky. Blame my love for power ballads.

Blame the fact that I secretly wanted Jeff Probst to join in on drums.

Is It Just Me?

Am I alone in this? Is this a truly unpopular opinion?

Are there others out there who felt a flicker of "meh" during the Survivor spectacle?

Look, it wasn't terrible. It was just... not amazing.

I wouldn't turn it off if it came on the radio, but I also wouldn't actively seek it out on Spotify.

There are definitely better versions of "Eye of the Tiger" out there.

Still Love Ya, Survivor!

Despite my lukewarm feelings about the performance, my love for Survivor remains strong.

I'll be tuning in next season, ready to judge every challenge, alliance, and tribal council with my expert (and often questionable) opinion.

And hey, maybe they'll redeem themselves with another musical performance... just hopefully not *that* one again.
